MP Group 1 Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them

MP Group 3 Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others

You are part of the __________________________ Club and you are fundraising to go to a conference in New York City. The cost per member is $700 and 8 members and 2 chaperones plan to attend the conference. The cost for each chaperone is $350 and that cost needs to be covered by the members of the club. Your club has decided to sell frozen pizzas for a profit of $3.00 per pizza sold as well as frozen pies for a profit of $4.50 per pie sold. Create a fundraising log to show how the money for the trip is raised.

A. Write and graph an inequality that represents the number of pizzas (y) and pies (x) that are sold.

B. The restaurant that is supplying the pizzas and pies can only guarantee 200 pizzas and 140 per seller.

C. Create your log as if each seller sells a different combination of pizzas and pies -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Performance Task - Amusement Park

Standard Description Score

F.BF.1 Write a function that describes a relationship between two quantities

CED.A.2 Create equations in two or more variables to represent relationships between quantities

MP Group 1 Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them

MP Group 2 Use models and tools precisely

You are planning a trip to a local amusement park with some of your friends and parents. The park requires one adult per 5 teens in a group. The cost of entering is $55 per person and parking costs $10 per vehicle. The minivans you plan to take can hold 7 people including the driver. What is the total cost of bringing 5, 8, or 12 friends?

A. Write and graph linear equation for each combination B. Create a data display (chart and graph included) to represent each cost combination. C. Is there a number of people that is more cost effective than another?
