• December 2005 - HealthShare Montana, (originally known as the Montana HIT Task Force), began in late 2005 as a grass-roots coalition of stakeholders. Senator Max Baucus is responsible for getting us started
• January 2007 - Steering Committee chosen and charged with creating a governance structure for HealthShare Montana
• July 2007 - A 21-member board composed of carefully chosen representatives from every geographic region and aspect of healthcare across the state of Montana is formed to govern HealthShare Montana

Governor Brian Schweitzer selected HealthShare Montana to be the designated entity in charge of establishing a statewide health information exchange in May of 2009.

• DocSite is now Covisint/DocSite
