An update on the HFTP Global Hospitality Accounting Common Practices project from Howard FieldTRANSCRIPT
HFTP Global Hospitality Accounting Common Practices project
For those who are wondering what is happening with the HFTP Global Hospitality Accounting Common Practices project (a web site that will show examples of the
content and structure of hotel management accounts from around the world, including the Uniform System - enabling comparison and providing information for practitioners, students, teachers and any interest parties) here is a brief update.
Howard Field met last month with European regional finance managers from several
major international chains who have agreed to participate. He has just returned from a subsequent progress meeting involving the GHACP project team, HFTP staff
and the web site designers.
By early March, an updated site will be ready for final testing, and for new data to be added. The site will then contain data including the input collected last year via
student teams from Lausanne Hotel School and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and from the new participants.
The project team’s development plans include further regions to be researched and
added during the year.
The HOSPA Finance Technical Committee plans to arrange an event during the first half of 2014, at which the GHACP web site can be more fully introduced. This event
will also present the changes arising from the new edition of the Uniform System, due to be published shortly
