The  Future  of  Mobile  Networks  

•  In  2020  is  expected  that  the  next  genera6on  of  cellular  network  will  need  to:  –  1000  6mes  larger  data  volume    –  10  to  100  6mes  higher  data  rate    –  5  6mes  lower  latency  –  10  6mes  longer  baSery    

•  The  current  cellular  networks  are  far  from  sa6sfying  the  significant  traffic  increasing

•  Algorithms  to  aggregate  non-­‐con6guous  por6ons  of  spectrum  into  a  single  high  bandwidth  channel

•  Enables  Virtual  Mobile  Network  Operator  (VMNO)  

•  High  bandwidth  backhaul  –  Transmission  in  TD-­‐LTE  with  20  MHz  channel  and  1  RRH

•  Development  of  mechanisms  to  reduce  the  power  consump6on  –  Unused  RRHs  to  idle  mode  –  Handover  users  to  “create”  unused  RRH
