Hesselberg Bygg has been a pro-ducer of seamless flooring systems since 1960 at our factory in Moss in Norway. We are among the leading players in Scandinavia and supply tai-lor made solutions to industry, com-mercial buildings, public areas and all types of outdoor areas.

The company has developed a broad portfolio of systems which use epoxy-, acrylic- and polyurethane resins, and various types of aggregate and fillers.

No fl oors are subjected to such severe loads as in industry, in terms of mechanical loads, chemical loads and thermal loads. At the same time func-tional requirements diff er for diff erent types of industries. Common to all is the desire for a du-rable and low-maintenance fl oor that also helps to create a good and safe working environment.

Hesselberg Bygg off ers more than 20 diff erent fl ooring systems which cover all the require-ments found in industry. We work with a network of special contractors who have been trained in these systems. We are confi dent that we can provide the customers with solutions that satis-fi es their requirements.

Manufacturing are often characterized by many people working on the fl oor and it is very important to have a bright, pleasant, tidy and safe working environment. There can be many diff erent types of mechanical loads, while the temperature loads as well as chemical loads usually are moderate.

In some cases there is a requirement to avoid build up of static electric-ity and in some type of production, such as in the pharmaceutical in-dustry, the demand for hygiene is extreme, which requires a very dense surface of the coating system.

The food indstry are among the most demanding in terms of fl ooring due to tough loads in combination with very high standards of hygiene. There are very diff erent requirements in diff erent segments of food industry, such as bakeries and fi sh processing.

The mechanical load varies, as well as thermal loads and chemical loads and must be specifi ed before selecting a solution. Common to all is the importance of a bright and pleasant working environment. In all wet areas there should be slip resistance. The fl oors shold also be easy to keep clean with minimum risk for the growth of bacteria.

In parking garages there are particularly high mechanical loads due to vehicular traffi c, especially where there is a high use of studded tires. The cars will carry a lot of water into the parking garage, also in com-bination with calcium chloride, and it is essential that the coating seals the concrete structure to avoid corrosion in reinforcement and carbon-ization, as well as the dripping of saline water onto a car roof on to the fl oor below.

In a parking garage with existing cracks one must select a coating sys-tem that bridges these cracks. A new parking garage should be de-signed to avoid cracks.

In workshops, there are usually mechanical loads from vehicles that can be quite severe if big tracked units are handled there. There may be oil spills etc., which require proper chemical resistance. In wet areas and in areas with danger of spillage slip resistance is required for the

safety of the people working there. Floors should also be easy to maintain and to keep clean in order to to prevent the build up of dust and dirt.

Warehouses and terminals are usually large areas where there are re-quirements for fl atness and a smooth surface. Easy cleaning and spac-es free of dust are essential in this type of environment.

The fl oors of warehouses and terminals are exposed to mechanical loads from forklifts and other transportation vehicles. There are con-centrated loads from the scaff olding poles.
