Short description from the host organization

The centrum for heart disease in Dresden is part of the university hospital and has the capacity for 220 patients. The centrum covers the whole spec-trum of and offers the maximum medical care in the special field of cardio-logic and heart surgery. The hospital is national and international approved as an excellent hospital.

clientele The patients are mostly elderly people with acute heart problems. It means that they stay only a short term at the hospital and there is a daily changing of the patients.

Working tasks There are different possible working fields: care station, intensive care sta-tions, intracardiac catheter labor, operating room, physiotherapy and mag-netic resonance imaging.

Task for the volunteers: run errands, clearance, help the transport the pa-tients, help the patients by food intake, support the stuff with simple care (beth, wash, clean), observation of the patients.
