Putterings January 2016
Happy New Year!
Hello, I am looking forward to meeting
everyone soon. My name is Maggie
Murphy-White and I am the new Event
Coordinator. My first day was 1/11/16
and Lisa is quickly getting me settled. I’m sure we will all get to
know each other very soon, but I wanted to share a little about my-
self while I had this opportunity. I have lived in St. Louis all my
life. I moved to Dardenne Prairie with my husband, PJ and my two
boys, Patrick and Danny about 8 years ago.
I have been a geriatric social worker for over 22 years. I worked
in hospitals, long-term care communities and most recently at the
Alzheimer’s Association. I am very lucky to come from a large
family who all live close. Some, closer than others — my Mom
and Dad are your neighbors, Jack and Marigene Murphy. Most of
my free time is spent with my family. I also love to craft, host
parties, camp and feed my growing Pinterest addiction.
Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 20th. We are
going to have a meeting at 2pm to dis-
cuss this years upcoming events. It will
be an opportunity to provide input and
volunteer. I’m also known for making
some yummy treats, so I will make sure
to have some for those who attend!
I am greatly looking forward to this
new opportunity and having a really
fun and exciting 2016. You can reach
me at the clubhouse or at
Take Care, Maggie

It’s that time of year again! Once again we have dates from the fire department for residents needing assistance in replacing batteries in

Progressive Dinner
A good time was had by all at the 2015 Progressive Dinner “Hooray for Hollywood” It was exciting to see HHR
residents decked out in their red carpet attire, dressed as their favorite movie character or even their favorite mov-
ie prop! From champagne at the clubhouse to a Beef Marsala entrée, and dessert topped off with a chocolate
from Forest Gump’s “Box is Like a Box of Chocolates”, the HHR community celebrated yet another memorable
evening. Special thanks to our entrée and dessert hostesses, photographers, Sharon and John Aubuchon, Donna
and Ron Bray for their culinary talents, the 2015 Progessive Dinner Committee and their spouses who served as
our bartenders, and of course, the HHR Residents who joined us!
IT’S A NEW YEAR. DO YOU WANT TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF BY HELPING OTHERS?
I will temporarily be helping Sharon Brooks in feeding the homeless. HHR residents have been most helpful in donating
their food and time to feed the “First Step Back Home” people. We serve them a meal on the fourth Monday of each
month at the Budget Inn in Wentzville.
For now, we will try to simplify the meals. Instead of main dishes, we will be serving sandwiches, vegetables or salad,
chips, dessert and drinks. Residents may bring the food to the clubhouse at 4:30pm on the fourth Monday of the month.
There is a sign--up sheet each month at the clubhouse for this and you can pick from any category to contribute towards
if you wish.
I really appreciate any help you can give. See how good it will make you feel. Thank you so
much Jane Chassey 636-265-0968
SNOW
Procedure Reminder
Please make note of the following:
If snow is forecasted, please do not park on the street.
Streets, driveways and walkways from driveways to front porch are cleared if more than 2” of snow falls.
Driveways with a car on it are at the snow removal company’s discretion to plow. If they feel they would risk hitting your car, they will not plow your drive.
The new snow/ice contractor this year is Lawn Authority. They have driven the neigh-borhood, and they have been instructed where to plow, snow-blow, shovel and spread ice melt. Please be patient with the snow removal and ice treatment, especially since this will be their first experience in Hawk Ridge. After the snow stops and has been cleared, if you have a problem area that is potentially dangerous (uncleared stoops or walkways), please let Lisa know.
Thank you for your cooperation.
