More than 7,100 (17,544 acres) of forest, filled with pine, juniper and oak trees add moretonality to the land and, to date, 3.5 million trees have been planted producing millions ofcubicmeters of pure oxygen.

The vines, a tangled maze of crooked branches, grow in the same soil from which the ricewas born. The unusual climate and sandy soil, slightly salted by the sea, is the ideal recipefor a vineyard of almost 35 hectares (86 acres).

The vines were planted in "bacelo bravo" in 2001 and grafted the following year making2003 the first year of production. The red grapes are Aragonez, Trincadeira, AlicanteBouschet and Touriga France, and the white granes are Arinto and Antão Vaz.
