The Ancient Greek Hero:HERACLES!

I’m sure you’ve all seen the cartoon Heracles, it is based on Greek Mythology. Heracles was a hero as well as a god.

Son of Zeus, the king of gods and a mortal Alcmene. He was incredibly strong, courageous and clever. Throughout his lifetime, he fought many monsters such as wrestling Antaeus the giant and also tricking Atlas into putting the sky back on his shoulders.

Though Heracles was loved by many, Goddess Hera did not. She was Zeus’ wife, and had much hatred for Heracles because he was proof that Zeus had cheated on her. She made Heracles life very difficult and drove him mad!

• Heracles had 4 marriages.– With the following women. Megara, Omphale,

Deianira, and Hebe.

• He had a couple of kids with them. However he murdered some of them out of rage.

Heracles lived a rough life filled with killing people, fighting and pain. It all came to an end when he was poisoned by one of his lovers Deianeira.
