Henry was able to accomplish many goals in various areas
such as religion, politics, military and personal
achievements.
MILITAR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• King Henry VIII was known as the “Father of the English Navy”.
• “Mary Rose” was built in 1509/1511 as the first English gunship, and “The Great Henry”, as the largest ship of that time.
• Henry added 80 ships to the English Navy and created the first dockyard at Portsmouth.

• He mounted the biggest invasion of France.
• Wars with France and Scotland.
• BATTLE OF FLODDEN: English victory over Scotland.
• He created a great chain of coastal fortresses.
RELIGIOUS ACCOMPLISHMENTS
He was a Catholic devotee, and with Sir Thomas More wrote the book called the “Declaration of the Seven Sacraments Against Martin Luther”, in 1520.
He was given the title “Defender of the Faith” by Pope Leo X.
English Reformation: Henry was the “Supreme Head on earth of the Church of England”.
Dissolution of the monasteries and increased the wealth of England.

He was accorded the tittle of King of Ireland.

• Henry VIII had 6 wives. The reason was mainly because he wanted to keep on rulling after his death, so he nedded a son to rule after him.
