“My husband is an architect and I am an interior designer, we believe we have created a perfect merging of the styles of this property to create a stunning home. In 1996 the Old Village Bakery was

divided into two and a modern extension added

onto our side. The property was tired when we

arrived but we have given it a new lease of life.

We have incorporated German influences from

our travels and there is a New England style to

the property.”

insight “It truly was a labour of love but it has been well worth the time and effort involved, it is so hard to say what one

thing we will miss about this house when we love it all! The kitchen

is probably my favourite room in the house although the living

room, bedrooms and garden all come in close behind. The kitchen

has an atmosphere that is warm and inviting. It is both a cooks’

kitchen and yet a wonderful place to socialise. The kitchen is the

heart of home and as a family we spend a lot of time here.”

“The garden is just an extension to the house. It is cared

for by a local lady in the village and it in my eyes it looks amazing.

It is pretty, south facing and overall very manageable. The

patio area catches the sun all day and is private and secluded.

We spend a lot of time in the garden enjoying its relaxing

atmosphere.”

“My husband and I bought this home not just for is unique mixture of old and new, but also its fantastic location. The A14 is only a short drive away with links to local

towns and cities including the historic city of Cambridge. Hemingford Grey is also on the route of the Guided Busway which connects the village to Cambridge, Addenbrookes Hospital and local

towns and villages. Huntingdon train station is a short drive away with direct links into London Kings Cross in under 50 minutes. It is a very popular commuter route and this home could suit

those who work in London but are looking to move away from the capital or a retired couple like ourselves. St Ives can be reached in under 30 minutes on foot or in about 15 minutes by bike.

There are dedicated cycle ways in the area and cycling is very popular. The route to St Ives takes you along the River Ouse which provides a beautiful location any time of the year.”
