    According toTransparency International,"the misuse of public power for private gain"breeds poverty and undermines the fairness,stability and efficiency of a society and itsability to deliver sustainable development toitsmembers. This is known as corruption.

    EXPLANATION:-

    1. PETTY CORRUPTION:- Pettycorruption may be defined asthe use o f public o ffice forprivate benefit in the courseo f delivering a public service.Usually involves relativelysmall amounts of money,

    including bribery (greasemoney or speed payments)The public servant abuses

    his/her position by acceptinga benefit for what is a routinetransaction or approval. Thedirect victim o f this abuseofpower is the citizen .This is

    called petty corruption.2. GRAND CORRUPTIONGrand corruption is themost dangerous type of

    corruption which effect thegrowth o f the country.

    Instances where policymaking, its design andimplementation arecompromised by corruptpractices. Found where

    public o fficers in highpositions (such ascouncilors), in the processo f making decisions ofsignificant economic value,

    routinely demand bribes orkickbacks for ensuring thattenders or contracts areawarded to specificcontractors. This is called

    Grand corruption.

    3.BUSINESS CORRUTION

    Business corruption act as ameans to accelerate businessprocesses. Proponents claimthat the end result is not affected

    but the mechanisms which usedto achieve the result are simplyaccelerated; In essence,bureaucracy is by passed andtime is utilized. It Includes

    bribery, insider trading, moneylaundering, embezzlement, taxevasion and accountingirregularities etc.

    POLITICAL Corruption is that corruptionwhich is related to politics and does notallow country togrow. It includes:-

    voting irregularities

    nepotism and cronyism

    ruleof a few

    false political promises

    This is called political corruption.

    5.ORGANIZED CORRUPTION

    A well-organized system of corruption inwhich there is a clear idea:

    of whom to bribe;how much should beofferedand are confident that they will receive the

    favor in return.

    Organised corruption is often perpetrated bycrimegangs and syndicates and includes

    white-collar crime and identity theft. So this iscalled organized corruption.

    6.CHAOTIC CORRUPTION

    This typeof chaotic corruption is also calleddisorganized corruption. In this it includessome points which are:-

    y Noguarantee that further bribes will nothave to be paid toother officials.

    y The priceof corruption is often inflated.

    y No reasonable assuranceSo this is known as chaotic corruption.

    PROBLEMS OF CORRUPTION

    There are some points which shows theproblem of corruption:-

    y corruption threatens the constitutional rights andfreedoms of citizens.

    y Corruption adapts itself to various conditions at thattaking different forms and getting more complicated.

    y corruption is characterised by exceptional latency.y corruption is notonly latent but it has a conciliatory

    nature.

    y corruption seriously discredits the authorities andundermines the prestigeofofficials.y Corruption is spreading among government bodies,

    public serviceoffices.

    y All public relations are under the law protection theydo become an objecto f criminal activity of corruptofficials.

    So these are the main problem

    which a country has to face and this was themainobstacle ingrowth of country.

    ROLE OF PARLIAMENT IN CUBING

    CORRUPTION

    The Roleof Parliament in Curbing

    Corruption, which took place from March 24-25, 2008 in Vientiane, Laos. This learningactivity was designed to improve theknowledgeof participants on issues relatingto the international best practice in the roleof

    parliament in providingoversight, improvingtransparency, and contributing to anti-attended by approximately 40 Members ofParliament and parliamentary staff from Laos.

    So parliament plays very dominant role incubing corruption.

    Solution to solve the problem ofcorruption:-

    Corruption cannot be properly stop butthere are some points which are help fullto solve the problem of corruption whichare as under:-

    1. Stopping clientelism

    2. Restructuring the public service:- It isnecessary so that there are morechecks and balances.

    Transparency:-

    All this informationshould be collected and reported andshould be available for outsiders andcontrolling agencies.

    4. Allowing for "tell on them without fearof losing your own job"-policies.

    5. Enforcing the judicial system so thatofficials, no matter what their range is,nor their status, get the punishment thatthey deserve, if cought doing somethingwrong.
