U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped a human smuggling attempt at the Falfurrias Immigration Checkpoint. On Tuesday, Feb. 12,

checkpoint agents referred a tractor-trailer to the secondary inspection area after a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to the cargo. As agents inspected the trailer, they discovered ten illegal aliens concealed inside. Agents determined the illegal aliens to be from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. Agents arrested the driver

and have referred the case for prosecution. All subjects will be

processed accordingly. Operation Big Rig is a call

to action for the community to get involved and call 911 if they see or are aware of smuggling or suspicious activity, remember “They’re humans, not cargo.”
