Story SuggestionsADVOCACY AND CULTURAL CHANGE — Breastfeeding has it’s challenges. An unsupportive environment shouldn’t be one of them.

At Snugabell, we work hard to influence public perception of breastfeeding and help normalize what in fact is the most natural thing in the world. Through our work with the Best for Babes Foundation and other efforts, we aim to influence and improve how people feel about breastfeeding.

FUNCTIONAL AND FASHIONABLE DESIGN— Incredibly useful and fabulously stylish? Yes please.

PumpEase was obviously designed with function in mind. If we aren’t giving moms a truly comfortable and convenient tool for hands-free pumping, we haven’t done our jobs. But that doesn’t mean moms can’t be stylish while they’re at it! PumpEase is available in a number of fun, fashionable prints so moms can choose both style and function.

BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT — Helping moms reach their breastfeeding goals, whatever they are.

In the United States, 81% of new moms start off breastfeeding in the hospital, yet only 51% are still at it after the first six months, and 30% after 12 months*. PumpEase is one tool that moms can use to help them continue breastfeeding (especially after returning to work) and as a result increase the number of babies that are still receiving breastmilk through their first year and beyond. *CDC Breastfeeding Report Card - United States, 2016

Wendy Armbruster Bell took a simple idea and turned it into a successful business. And she was able to do so in a way that gave her a full, involved family life with her two young children while building and running her own company. To Wendy, that’s living the dream. Just ask her about it!


Why Would Nursing Moms Need PumpEase?Most PumpEase moms are simply busy women who have made pumping a priority and need a little help to make it happen! PumpEase is there. But there are also plenty of other scenarios where the ability to pump (with both hands free!) can make all the difference:

Wendy Armbruster Bell is a mom with two young girls, Toni and Michaela, ages twelve and ten.

She graduated with distinction from the Fashion Design & Technology program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) in 1995 and received her Bachelor of Design, Fashion & Technology (KPU) in 2015. Wendy has received numerous awards related to her education and work in the apparel industry. She worked as a CAD Pattern Maker in the apparel and sewn products industries for over 20 years. Wendy is a Certified Lactation Educator.

Wendy is passionate about raising awareness to help work towards the normalization, mainstreaming and acceptance of breastfeeding (including breastfeeding in public) in our culture. She is also passionate about her choice to be an entrepreneur and is an avid supporter of others who have chosen to combine motherhood with owning a small business as a means to achieve stability between work and life.

Wendy founded Snugabell Mom and Baby Gear to help support the beauty of breastfeeding and give moms stylish, functional products to help them meet their breastfeeding goals. She’s happy to share her story or to talk breastfeeding and parenting in general — we hope you’ll reach out soon!

Pump Across America

The mamas Wendy has encountered since launching Snugabell (especially those pumping for preemies and multiples) inspired her to create Pump Across America, a touching video montage celebrating real moms from every state across the USA.

The release of the video coincided with the launch of the Snugabell “Milk Money” grant program, which provides monthly cash grants to local breastfeeding advocacy groups. Also coming down the pipeline is a project supporting moms with babies in the NICU.

Snugabell’s Milk Money grant program aims to put real dollars in the hands of breastfeeding support organizations where it matters most. That means reaching out to local leadership to help them expand and improve their community outreach.

Leaders who apply can let us know specifi cally what they are trying to accomplish and how much money (up to $200) they would like to receive. We evaluate applications monthly and distribute funds based on the amount requested and the details of the project or initiative proposed.
