Montezuma at the Community Hope Church. All
new leaders need to attend a face-to-face training
within 1 year of becoming a leader!
For more information on the training or to register go to: https://www.extension.iastate.edu/4h/volunteertraining
As our 4-H year comes to an end, please remember to complete your record books. A record book is a great way to showcase your learning throughout the year and you can receive awards for your efforts!
Not sure where to even begin on your record book? See the graphic to the right to help you get an idea of the process.
Please reach out to the Extension Office and/or attend the workshop date if you have questions or need guidance!
Find all of your record book forms on our website at https://www.extension.iastate.edu/poweshiek/content/4-h-record-keeping-forms
RECORD KEEPING Organizing Your Record Book
Your record book should be assembled in this order:
Title Page Include your name, age, grade last completed, club, number of years you have been in 4-H and a photo of yourself. 4-H Yearly Summary This is your opportunity to showcase everything you have done throughout the year. You should have one for every 4-H year you have completed, starting with the most recent year. Please remember, this is more than just your County Fair exhibits! Did you do a presentation at your club? Attend a workshop? Etc.
Project Records If you would like to apply for a project award, you must complete a project record. Project forms can be found at our website. You need to complete 1 per species or project.
We have many club and individual awards available! Most individual awards are given based on record books, but some senior level awards do not require one. To be considered for an award, check out the website listed to the right and follow all necessary instructions on the specific award form.
