HELLO DIRECTORS!

Since so many have inquired about my background and how Eclipse began, I thought it only right to share my bio with you. Hope this eXplains my passion for dance as an event producer. I love it!

Lisa Saline, DX Founder and President

What began as a college coaching gig, quickly evolved into a lifetime passion and career: 2013 marks Lisa’s 26th exciting year in the industry.

It all began when Lisa was just three years old. Her mother enrolled her in studio dance, cheerleading, baton and gymnastics programs. She was a multiple award winner for group and solo dance performances.

High school was both an exciting and rewarding journey for Lisa. She was chosen as Osseo High School’s MVP cheerleader and captain, homecoming queen, a National Honor Society member and Outstanding Senior from her graduating class. During that senior year, Lisa was also crowned Miss Teen of Minnesota, a scholastic and talent recognition program. She was honored to have been chosen out of 365 contestants where she showcased dance as her talent.

Lisa made history in 1984 when she was selected as one of the original 36 members of the National Football League’s Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders (MVC), out of 600 talented candidates. She spent five years with the MVC and had the opportunity to travel to Sweden representing the team in 1989. During this time Lisa was a college student as well as the St. Cloud State University Dance/Cheer Coach. She led them to the NDA Collegiate Championship in 1988 where they finished sixth in the nation. In 1990 Lisa made history yet again, this time with the National Hockey League. She developed the NHL’s first-ever professional dance/cheer team, coined the Electric Stars, for the Minnesota North Stars. Lisa coached this group for four years until the hockey team was relocated to Dallas.

She is the Founder of the Eclipse Studio Dance Competitions, AmeriCup National Dance Championship, DX Judges Association, and co-creator of the UPA/ANP International Cheer/Dance Championship in Mexico. In 2014, DX will debut the Majestic and Dream Studio Dance Championships. Lisa celebrates the DX Thanksgiving Walt Disney World Tour, now in its fourteenth years. She’s also been involved in numerous bowl game half-time shows, most notably for her collaboration with the 1992 Super Bowl half-time show.

Lisa is an active member on numerous committees within the United States All Star Federation {USASF} Dance Worlds such as the Rules, Sanctioning, and Judges Selection committees. She also plays a vital role on the Dance National Advisory Council (DNAC).

In August of 2010, Lisa was voted by her colleagues in the Spirit Industry as the Chair of the Independent Event Producers (IEP). Playing a vital role as a founding member of the National Council for Spirit Safety & Education (NCSSE), she continues to promote safety education world-wide. Lisa is a charter member of the National All-Star Cheerleading Coaches Congress (NACCC), served as the inaugural chair for the Spirit Industry Trade Association (SITA), and was elected for a fourth term on the USASF National Advisory Board. Lisa serves on the advisory boards for American Cheerleader Magazine, the AAU Dance/Drill Association, and as an Ambassador for the MVC Alumni Association.

Lisa is an icon in the dance & cheer industry, traveling around the world judging, teaching, speaking and training within the industry. Lisa has been honored with many awards over the years, but her most cherished are being selected as one of the Spirit Industries 25 Most Influential People and being inducted into the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders Hall of Fame in 2009.

Mrs. Saline is a published writer for: Dance Spirit, InMotion, Inside Cheerleading, Cheer Coach & Advisors, All-Star Cheer Magazine, American Cheerleader, , The Cheering Review, Cheer Biz, Let’s Cheer, Kickline and Sharing the Spirit. She published a commemorative book titled “The First Twenty-Five Years of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders.”

Lisa graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Speech Communications, Public Relations/Marketing; dance minor, AND a brand new business: UPA, currently coined Dance Xtreme USA. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Roger, and they have three children: Dylan John, Peyton Ruth Arianna and Greyson Andrew.

Lisa’s advice to young individuals is to go for your dreams. Anything is possible, just dream and believe!
