Hello and WELCOME BACK!! I hope that you and your family had a

relaxing summer vacation. My name is Kristen Kinsella, and I am thrilled

to be back at Lloyd Road for my second year! I have transitioned from

being the full-time fifth grade counselor to assisting the fourth grade

students as well, alongside Mrs. Alvarez. This is going to be a fun year

filled with learning, growing, and lots of new adventures. I cannot wait to

get to know you, your family, and most importantly, your child!

First, I wanted to take a moment to tell you a few things about myself. I

grew up in Monmouth County, just a short distance away from

Matawan! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rutgers University and Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling from

Monmouth University. This is my first year working within Lloyd Road, however, I am no stranger to the district. I completed my graduate level

internship right here in Matawan, working alongside the prestigious staff at Ravine Drive Elementary, MAMS, and Matawan Regional High School!

It was then that I fell in love with this district and I am overjoyed at the opportunity to be the newest edition to the staff!

Some of the ways I will be interacting with your child this year will be

through classroom counseling lessons to highlight character education

as well as small group work and/or individual counseling in order to

strengthen skills pertinent in his/her growth as an independent, life-long

learner. Further, I work as the school Anti-bullying Specialist as well as

the I&RS Coordinator for each grade level to better support your

students’ social/emotional and academic needs. It is a priority of mine to

collaborate with parents, staff and community organizations to benefit

and meet the needs of all Lloyd Road students.
