Blood VesselsCapillariesCapillaries are the smallest blood

vessels in the body measuring only 1cell thick. These are the link betweenthe arterioles and venules whileallowing the transfer of substances tooccur. The very thin walls of thecapillaries allowed nutrients and

gases to diffuse into the cells andwaste products from the cells (i.e.carbon dioxide) to diffuse back in theblood for excretion later. Differenttissues will have different amounts ofcapillaries dependant upon the
