In addition, we offer you the possibility of reach-ing employees outside the workplace via the mobile phone network (by SMS) or by e-mail. Absence and escalation man-agement ensures that the right person is always reached.

The advantages of the solution

Radio coverageThe alarm is transmitted via a local transmitter or a dedicated simulcast radio network. This makes it possible to cover the re-quired area even when this is a large area and is achieved with a small amount of infrastructure. Additional transmitters can be added for more complex sites. This creates a radio network with simulcast transmission of voice and text alarms. This kind of radio network shortens the throughput time and increases the capacity. In order to reach employees who are not present at the location, the SMS or email option can be selected.

System availabilityThe central unit as well as the radio network can be configured with a cluster – therefore it is possible to achieve a system availability of almost 100 percent. The use of UPS components ensures that a power failure is bridged and that the system’s functionality is not affected. This means that the system could operate independently in case of a power outage of the local power supply. For a completely autonomous operation of the system, the IP connection can be managed via an independent IP network.

Monitoring of the systemTechnical defects of system components often impair the functioning of the systems. The alarm server offers the ability

to monitor the server itself as well as the surrounding system modules and to forward error messages or malfunctions to the service personnel or other service providers.

Absence managementIn the event of an employee’s absence, absence management enables the message to be forwarded to a predetermined alternative communication channel, to his or her superior or it sends a message about the employee’s absence.

Escalation ManagementEscalation management is available for urgent and important events: A defined process runs through a predefined sequence until the termination condition is fulfilled. This means that suf-ficient personnel are alerted or informed and that they have acknowledged the incident.

Potentially explosive atmospheres – ATEX Together with the s.QUAD ATEX pager, the solution is ideally suited for use in potentially explosive environments. It meets challenging requirements thanks to various interfaces and its good radio coverage. The pager impresses with its high func- tionality (voice and text messages received in one terminal), water resistance and robustness. Its compact design and prac- tical size make it a constant companion.

Cover large areas:If a larger area with several buildings has to be covered by radio, the combination of alarm servers (I.SEARCH) with a single transmitter (I.SITE) or a simulcast radio network (I.CAST) is the ideal combination.

Based on an existing local TCP/IP network, the solution is easy to integrate and expand. To increase the reliability of the system, the central alarm server and the control station of the radio network should be operated in a cluster mode.
