HEALTHCAREMARKETS AND AGENCY

The Healthcare Markets Agency team focuses on the Sale, Acquisition, Funding, letting and disposal of Acute Elective non-emergency premises from hospitals through to clinics, medical centres and individual consulting rooms.

The focus of our activity is advising on transactions and providing consultancy services which extend beyond Agency to include the targeting of global operators for new facilities.

We focus on providing these services to landowners, including the Howard de Walden Estate, Calthorpe Estate, Battersea Power Station and other significant primary investors in land and buildings utilised for Healthcare (D1 and C2) uses together with individual clinicians and specialty operators. We have a high degree of operator awareness and focus on emerging trends in the Healthcare Sector particularly with regard to the secondary and tertiary sectors. We aim to use our transactional knowledge and data to support the remainder of the Healthcare Team with regard to valuation and broader consultancy services together with specialist advice to banks, landlords and investors alike. Above all we have an unrivalled expertise in helping operators to establish presence in the core central London Healthcare market of the Harley Street Medical Area (HSMA). In this regard we have advised and facilitated the opening of facilities for UK, European and Global operators of Healthcare together with NHS Foundation Trusts.

OUR HEALTHCARE TEAM

Martin Robb | Partner, Valuation and Advisory, BSc FRICS Martin joined C&W in April 2016 and has more than 20 years continuous experience in the UK healthcare market. For several years he was the author of the RICS on-line valuation tool, I-Surv, for care homes.

Over the years Martin has been involved in many of the largest portfolios in the sector whether as trading going concerns or investments. His remit at C&W is to grow the healthcare service line both within valuations and transactions.

James Hanson | Partner, Investment, BSc MRICS James joined in November 2016 from JLL where he was a Lead Director and Head of Healthcare Investment and brings 20 years of experience.

He has recently completed a host of deals including an acquisition of two care home investments for c£20 million, the sale and acquisition of two private hospitals, the sale of a £30 million care home portfolio; bought and sold primary care investments, and renegotiated terms on a hospital prior to taking it to market. James is a recognised national specialist in healthcare as his string of successful deals demonstrates.

Tom Robinson | Partner, Valuation and Advisory, BA (Hons) MSc MRICS Tom joined C&W in June 2016 and has more than 10 years continuous experience in the UK healthcare market, advising the majority of UK lenders on trading healthcare assets across the country, in addition to a range of operators, developers and investors.

Gary Yeardley | Associate, Valuation and Advisory, BSc (Hons) MRICSSince commencing his career in 2007, Gary has spent several years specialising in Healthcare brokerage, valuation and advisory. He has advised and worked on behalf of many of the leading private health and social care providers, charities, various REITs, private individuals and public sector providers. Gary also works for the RICS as an APC assessor and mentor in commercial property and valuation.

Nick West | Senior Analyst, Investment, BSc (Hons) MSc MRICSNick joined the Healthcare department of C&W as a Senior Analyst in August 2017, having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor at NHS Property Services. He has worked in various departments, including Acquisition and Disposals, Lease Advisory, Property Management and, most recently, Evaluation and Analytics.
