Component 1 - Equitable Access to Instruction
Curriculum Information
LADACIN Network’s Lehmann and Schroth Schools utilize Unique Learning System® (ULS)
curriculum. ULS launches from a cloud-based platform allowing educators to deliver
differentiated, standards-aligned content enhanced by assessments, data tools and evidence-based
instructional support.
Plan for Implementation
Each student has an individualized log in. Detailed instructions will be provided to parents.
Individualized assignments will be displayed on screen once the student/parent logs into their
account. After completing the assignment, student/parent clicks on log out button to submit
completed lesson. Administrators and teachers will be updating lessons, checking completed
assignments and communicating with families regarding student progress. A parent help line is
established in case of technical difficulties.
Communication
School programs are utilizing ClassDojo. ClassDojo is a social media-like platform enabling
public and private communication between school staff and families. It allows for the school
staff to send messages to families, share photos and videos, and get family and student feedback
to teacher lessons and overall communication in a secure safe place. School leaders are able to
track all communication and collect data regarding family needs.
Technology Support Services
In collaboration with sending districts, devices will be made available to all students. Any IT
support is available, requested through classroom teacher.
Component 2 - Addressing Special Education Needs
LADACIN Network uses a transdisciplinary (TD) team approach to the evaluation of service
needs and development of individual transdisciplinary services, programs and reports. These
reports include goals, objectives and activities developed by the team, including the person
served. The team approach encompasses the medical, educational, therapeutic, and social aspects
of the individual’s development.
Each student’s program is individualized and based on his or her Individual Education Plan,
which is developed in conjunction with the family and the district Child Study Team. Curriculum
is consistent with the NJ Core Curriculum Standards and includes an emphasis on academic,

readiness and pre-readiness skills, social skills, functional daily living skills, pre-vocational
skills, communication skills, and fine and gross motor skills. All certificated staff document IEP
implementation in Realtime, a student information system. During virtual learning, LADACIN
School Programs are working to meet each student’s IEP to the greatest extent possible. Virtual
IEP meetings are conducted in conjunction with the sending district. Related services are being
provided on a Zoom HIPPA compliant platform.
LADACIN Network’s school programs utilize a web-based curriculum, Unique Learning
System® (ULS). ULS is a standards-based curriculum specifically designed so that students
with special needs can access the general education curriculum. This personalized system allows
for more time engaging students in valuable learning time by providing differentiated lesson
materials, detailed lesson plans, standards alignments and evidence based teaching strategies
with data-driven results.
Each student has an individualized log in. Detailed instructions will be provided to parents.
Individualized assignments will be displayed on screen once the student/parent logs into their
account. After completing the assignment, student/parent clicks on log out button to submit
completed lesson. Administrators and teachers will be updating lessons/checking completed
assignments and communicating with families regarding student progress.
In addition, the school programs are utilizing ClassDojo. ClassDojo is a social media-like
platform enabling public and private communication between school staff and families. It allows
for the school staff to send messages to families, share photos and videos, and get family and
student feedback to teacher lessons and overall communication in a secure safe place. School
leaders are able to track all communication and collect data regarding family needs.
In order to facilitate the aforementioned, we have been working with sending districts to ensure
easy access to technology for all families. In some cases, we have provided families with iPads
loaded with all necessary apps specific to the individual student. A parent help line is established
in case of technical difficulties.
Component 3 - Addressing ELL and Bilingual Needs
Bilingual needs are accommodated through utilization of a contracted translation service. In
addition the communication platform being used by the schools, ClassDojo, supports translation
for 35 languages.

Component 4 - Safe Delivery of Meals
Sending districts are responsible for any out of district students who receive free or reduced
lunches.
Component 5 - Length of Virtual or Remote Instructions Day
LADACIN School Program’s virtual hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. During these
hours staff is available for support in a myriad of different ways:
Teachers are posting daily lesson plans with links embedded for easy access. They’re
staying close and connected to our curriculum. The curriculum is individualized and
differentiated. Students are leveled according to data derived from assessments and
evaluations available on ULS.
Supplemental applications (apps) and on-line programs are embedded into daily lesson
plans geared towards student’s learning levels. Detailed parent trainings (in video
format) are conducted to ensure proper navigation.
Teachers are using apps like Screencastify which allow them to split the screen and teach
either with a voice over or their video directly on the screen.
Special area teachers are continuing with their weekly lessons which are provided
through our virtual platform, ClassDojo and correspond with classroom schedules.
Social workers and nurses are checking in with families and providing resources within
their local community.
Support staff attends all TD meetings and follows through with teacher directives to
support students in the classrooms. One-on-one paraprofessionals continue to support the
teacher in supporting their specific student’s IEP goals and objectives to the greatest
extent possible.
Therapists are providing Teletherapy according to IEPs to the greatest extent possible
Component 6 - Attendance
LADACIN Network School Programs school leaders are working collaboratively with sending
districts regarding attendance. Teachers touch base with families daily to provide any support
needed for success. All correspondence is detailed in our student record system, Realtime, and is
readily available upon request.

Component 7 - Facilities
Upon closure of the Lehmann and Schroth School facilities, a commercial company cleaned the
facilities and applied Vital Oxide, an EPA registered List N Disinfectant for use against SARS-
CoV-2. We are following CDC Guidance for cleaning and disinfecting. A day porter has
returned three days per week and maintenance staff is working daily on preventative
maintenance. Upon reopening the facilities will be disinfected in the same manner.
All sites have security systems and the Director of Facilities or designee receives notification of
any issues.
Summer Programming
Graduation
The Lehmann and Schroth Schools Special Activities Committee are working on a safe, yet
special, way to celebrate our graduates in accordance with the Governor’s directives.
Extended School Year (ESY)
If LADACIN Network’s Lehmann and Schroth Schools remain closed during ESY due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, our ESY program will be conducted via remote learning. Due to the
medical fragility of the students that we serve, we do not see a full on-site return for the summer
program. As the summer evolves, if restrictions are lifted by the Governor, LADACIN Network
School Programs are prepared to execute our gradual re-entry plan, which includes, establishing
which students have clearance to return as determined in collaboration with the student’s district,
doctor and family. We would then look at classroom sizes and space to ensure social distancing.
The plan for reentry would include a staggered return of essential staff before filtering in
students. CDC guidelines will be followed for return program considerations.
