ABOUT THE HEALTH CHALLENGE To further drive innovation in the medtech space, Volta, Nova Scotia Health Authority, BioNova, QEII Foundation, and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, have formed a strategic partnership to present the Health Challenge, a series of five pitch events focusing on specific health care priorities. Medtech companies participating in the competition will present their technologies that aim to solve various priorities pre-determined by the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

The winner of the pitch event will receive $100,000, and their innovative technology will be considered for adoption by the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

The first Health Challenge Pitch Event will focus on cancer care and is taking place virtually on Friday, June 19 at 12pm.

DensitasDensitas develops AI so� ware solutions for digital mammography and breast cancer screening focussed on image quality, breast density and breast cancer risk assessment, for e� icient and cost-e� ective patient and process management.

DMF Medical IncorporatedDMF Medical Incorporated develops technologies to support the delivery of safe, sustainable and cost-e� ective anesthesia; they are grounded in the belief that meaningful research and product development leads to improved clinical practice and outcomes.

Picomole Inc. Picomole is an innovative medical technology company. Their goal is to develop patented technologies to make breath analytics the standard of care for non-invasive clinical diagnostics. They have developed a breath test for lung cancer screening and researching additional non-invasive diagnostic tests.
