Allan McKinlay led us in some amazing times of worship, Steven Anderson spoke on the Friday evening on the abundance of God’s grace, and on Saturday there were various workshops to equip the church more fully. These workshops included subjects such as the healing power of blessing, healing the wounds of abortion and miscarriage, and others on the Good News of the Kingdom and prayer. On the Saturday evening we held an open Healing Service where 5 people came to faith. Recordings of most of the sessions are available from our office or via the website. You can also see Friday night of the conference on our youtube channel www.youtube.com/HRScot Next year’s conference entitled ‘See His Glory’ will again be at Queen’s Park Baptist Church on August 24th – 25th. Our special guest speakers will be Rick & Lori Taylor from Santa Maria Healing Rooms in California. They have been running healing rooms for over 11 years and travel extensively in the States and to other nations where they see many miraculous healings. We are very excited and expectant about what God will do through them at our 2012 conference. We’d encourage you to book early! Registration will be £20 per person and £30 per married couple. They were visiting with our old friend Kent Roberts in Los Angeles, who had been instrumental in the establishing of Healing Rooms here in Scotland. Steven preached at Kent’s church and another Vineyard church in LA, and he and Helen spoke at a weekend healing conference. They also visited Santa Maria up the coast a bit from LA. There they developed relationship with Rick & Lori Taylor, Regional Directors for HR in California, Utah, Nevada and Colorado. Rick & Lori will be coming to minister at our conference next year. The Santa Maria rooms have an amazing property which includes space to host two churches and a prophetic ministry as well a great centre for Healing Rooms. There was a strong sense of God’s glory resting there and people have been coming from other parts of the USA and from other nations to receive healing in that place. Steven, along with Allan McKinlay and James Renwick, will be in Ireland again in November running training courses in Cork and Dublin, preaching in some churches and ministering at a special weekend event in Newry. US A Trip Santa Maria Healing Room Steven and Helen attended the first European Directors’ retreat which was held in Finland. National and Regional Directors were there from Scotland, England, Holland, Denmark, Finland, Moldova, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Siberia. It was a great few days of worship, prayer, prophesying, networking and strategising. Steven shared a teaching on overcoming corporate blockages to healing, and he and Helen renewed and developed new relationships with other National Directors. We are keen to look at ‘twinning’ with one of the Eastern European countries, and we have had invitations to provide teaching sessions via Skype with Ukraine and Siberia. Steven writes, “It was a great privilege to meet with, and get alongside brothers and sisters who are pioneering healing ministry in other nations, especially those from what were formally the Soviet bloc countries. We want to stand with them and support them in whatever ways we can. It was also wonderful to hear some amazing testimonies of God’s work in other places and to be able to share what God is doing in Scotland.” The group of leaders plan to meet each year, hopefully including other nations that currently have Healing Rooms, and help build a strategy to see a Healing Room in every city of every nation in Europe. HealingTestimonies

I asked for healing prayer for my neck, in which I have osteoarthritis. My neck was giving me a great deal of pain – I was notable to turn my head very far on either side, which made it difficult to drive safely and I could not find a position in bed, where I could find relief.

After prayer for healing, I was freed both from pain and from restriction of movement. This healing occurred 18 months agoand is permanent, for which I thank our all powerful and gracious Lord.

Betty, Dunfermline

I was born with a very rare condition known as Williams Syndrome - it is so incredibly rare only one in 30,000 will have it. Itcaused me to hear voices in my head. I was also diagnosed with depression in January 2011 and was in a very dark place. Mylife felt so worthless I thought my mother would be better off without me.

Then I met a lady who is involved with the Healing Rooms in Cupar and she encouraged me to go along. I was very nervous atfirst, but everyone was so lovely and welcoming. The Team prayed for Healing for my depression and for the WilliamsSyndrome that the voices in my head would go in Jesus Name.

On 23rd September I woke during the night with a revelation from Father God where I felt His love, Jesus love and the powerof God pouring this love into me. Suddenly I jerked awake and felt different. I realised that I had been re-born. Mydepression has gone although I still do get upset sometimes. I know for sure Father, Son and Holy Spirit are with me everyday.

I have been discharged from hospital and am His disciple and so proud of that. I would encourage anyone who is ill or downto go to the Healing Rooms and receive prayer.

Dawn – Cupar

Sandra Stothard,Volunteer,DunfermlineHealing RoomsMy involvement withHealing Rooms begannearly four years ago.My walk down thepreparation route tooka similar pattern to allof the othervolunteers, withreading, training, application, referees, asuitabilityappointment with theHealing Room Director, and role play all partof the process.

The Lord had to do some extraordinary work in preparingme for the job, as I had to learn again of God’s sovereignty inprompting me to do this thing for Him. I have received muchprayer for healing myself as I have MS and I know He has apurpose for me, and that He is eminently able to do allthings! Along with other team members, I fulfil one of avariety of roles and though I sometimes find myself restrictedin what I can do, I know that He gives me the strength to doeven the smallest thing for Him in this capacity.

One of the best moments for me happened whenDunfermline rooms were asked to man the Healing tent inthe centre of St Andrews, during one afternoon of CLAN inthe summer. I was speaking with another volunteer when ayoung lady approached the tent, hobbling quite a bit. She

was attending CLAN with members of her church, expressingher love of the Lord in dance at the evening meetings. Shewas enjoying every minute of it until she twisted her anklethe night before and was unable to put much weight on herright foot. She sat down and removed her shoe and sock tolet us see her foot. After praying for the foot, cradling it inmy hands as I did so, I asked her if her foot felt any different. She moved it about and stood up on it. She was able toweight bear, but said that she still felt slight discomfort froma place of obvious swelling around her ankle bone. Weprayed some more and later, she was able to say that myhand was like a cold compress and she felt no pain, althoughthe swelling was still evident. She moved the foot quite a bitmore and felt no discomfort, being happy to be patient tillthe swelling disappeared. She then put on her sock and shoeand left, walking very firmly on both feet. The proof of thehealing was visible then, but also when I saw her dancing inthe ‘Dwelling Place’ at the evening meeting!

At that same tent in St Andrews, I also encountered a reallyregrettable moment during the particularly wet day. In aneffort to prevent the rain from gathering in puddles on thetent roof, one of our number used a brush head to move therain water, which unfortunately found its’ way downthrough a hole in the tarpaulin, directly into the handbag ofa fellow volunteer. We did not laugh, at least not too much, especially when the volunteer said she needed a newhandbag anyway!

These two examples, widely different, illustrate the diversityof experiences to be had as a member of Healing Rooms. Asa team, we have grown together in our learning, sharingthings that the Lord has done in and through us, sometimesaccompanied by solemnity, tears or laughter according to thenature of what is being shared. What a privilege to meet andwork with so many people as we serve Him in this way!

I am one of these people that quite like statistics and graphs. Nothing too complex or my mind gets a littleboggled, but it’s great when a clear picture emerges from the data. So here is one you might like:

A = ‘pray’, ‘prayer’, ‘praying’B = ‘thanksgiving’, ‘rejoice’, ‘praise’C = ‘worry’, ‘anxious’D = ‘grumble’, ‘complain’

This reveals an interesting picture that we would do well to remember.Looking at this it would be safe to say the New Testament emphasis ondealing with the issues of life revolved round prayer, praise andthanksgiving, not on worrying, grumbling or complaining. Even the fewmentions of the words ‘worry’ or ‘anxious’ are generally prefixed withthe words ‘do not’!

Ok, so you probably knew this already, then let me ask you a question.Just today, how many times did your thoughts drift to some worryingproblem or issue and how many times did you lift up praise and prayer? Now this is not meant to be a harsh question and if you instantlyjumped into guilt and condemnation… then please STOP!

Let me reassure you this is not a ‘works based’ issue it is a ‘faith based’issue and as a believer you instinctively have faith – you just need to letyour mind know it occasionally! Our problems don’t stem from ourneed to ‘do more religious stuff’, especially out of fear, guilt orobligation. Quite often our biggest problem is that we do not realizewhat we have access to ‘in Christ’. You are living in grace and you havebeen put ‘into Christ’ so everything you could possibly need, includingpeace, wisdom and faith, are yours. How incredible is that?! So why is itthat when something happens that rocks us we tend to move intoanxiety and destructive thinking or talking? I asked this very question ofthe Lord one day when I realized that certain areas of my life reflectedthis negative response. I got a simple answer, ‘Marjory, you’re believingwrong’. Ok, bad grammar apart, we all know that when we believewrong, we begin to respond wrong, after all Proverbs says ‘As a manthinks in his heart so is he’. The good news is that we can change theway we think, all it takes is a little care and attention. We wouldn’t letstrangers and thieves into our home to run amok in the way that wesometimes allow dreadful thoughts to run rampant through our mindstealing our peace and joy.

I’m not generally keen on ‘steps’ to this or that, but for the sake ofspace and clarity let me put down a few ‘pointers’ that I pray you willfind helpful in this journey to begin ‘thinking right’.

1. Think about what you are thinking about! Start to take note ofwhere your thoughts most often drift to.

2. Put up a ‘spiritual barricade’ to negative thoughts by havingscriptures or declarations you can speak out. Have some good thoughts‘up your sleeve’ to allow in.

3. Watch what you ‘feed on’. For example, allowing in too manynegative news reports and receiving constant media bombardment canjust feed your anxious thought patterns.

4. Practice turning your thoughts towards God. Include him in theconversation in your mind.

5. Practice your thanksgiving and praise. Remember we need to thankGod ‘in’ the circumstances and praise him in spite of what is going on,because he is always good, is always trustworthy and always has theanswer.

6. Finally, refuse discouragement as it only leads to weariness. Learnwhat it means to ‘magnify the Lord’ (hint – think about the word‘magnify’!) Our persistence in these things comes by a focus on thesolution, which is always found in God, and not on the problem.

I believe that as you begin to ‘think right’ you will find that your peaceis restored and you will see the situations you are concerned aboutfrom the perspective of heaven. 1 Thess 5 v 16 says ‘Rejoice always, praycontinually, in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you inChrist Jesus’. Take heart, you are ‘in Christ Jesus’ – so ‘in Him’ you cando it!
