New Year, New You!

Green Homes Now!

Inspiration in Communities Awards

Luminus staff were encouraged to make positive changes in all aspects of their lives in 2009 at the New Year New You event held in Second Floor Conference Room on 14 January.

External exhibitors included 50+ Working Lives, Stuart Jackson from Ewing Associates, Huntingdon Recreational Centre, Elizabeth Hughes offering free seated massages and Westfield Health. Corazon attended and offered carbon monoxide breath tests to determine whether smoking has damaged the lungs.

Pilates instructor, Judith Barrass, attended to promote the pilates classes starting in Brook House on 28 January 2009.

The Luminus HR Business team promoted all of the excellent personal and professional training and courses available in 2009 and HOPE Social Enterprises ran their low cost household goods sale.

Those attending enjoyed a healthy lunch and received information about eating for good health.

Luminus is supporting the National Housing Federation in its campaign to ensure that private developers reach the same high standards in cutting carbon emissions as housing associations.

The Green Homes Now! petition will soon be sent to the Housing Minister and the list of supporters is steadily growing.

Luminus prides itself on the high energy efficiency of their homes and this is reflected in an energy efficiency rating above the public and private sector averages. This not only reduces carbon emissions, but also reduces the heating bills of the occupants which is increasingly important in the current climate.
