This workshop is part of a research of the Future of Leadership Initiative, that each year investigates a highly relevant topic of advanced leadership. During this co-creative event, we kindly invite you to participate, a diverse group of students and practitioners will address the question how employees and managers perceive and mediate meaning in their work environment. What might be impacts of the increasing importance of digitalization in this respect? What creates motivation and meaning in today’s organizations and institutions – and what destroys it? Date: January 23 rd , 2016, 9 am to 7 pm Location: Ludwig Maximilians University, Leopoldstr. 13, Room 1310, 80802 Munich Moderator: Sebastian Morgner, Anna Schmitt The workshop is part of the research on “Meaning@Work - Leadership in Times of Digitalization”. In preparation of the workshop we had one-to-one interviews with distinguished thought leaders like Mr. Joe Kaeser, CEO of Siemens, Ms. Martina Koederitz, CEO of IBM Germany, Prof. Dr. Götz Werner, founder and supervisory board member of dm-drogerie markt, Prof. Amy Wrzesniewski, the leading scientist on meaning at the Yale School of Management, Prof. Peter Senge, president of the society for organizational learning at MIT, and Padre Dr. Notker Wolf, highest representative of the Benedictine. Upfront the workshop we will also visit the former child soldier Benson Wereje in Uganda. Today he is engaged in leadership development to align African tribes to one vision of a modern African Society. To find out more about all 2016 thought leaders please visit our website at: www.future-of-leadership.org. Getting inspired by ideas of the thought leaders we have interviewed, you and other participants from various backgrounds will jointly investigate during the workshop crucial “Meaning Makers” and “Meaning Takers” in an everyday working life – specific conditions and behaviors that have the strongest positive or negative impact on professionals motivation.
