Souper Bowl of Caring

This Sunday, February 2 is the final day we will be collecting canned goods for the Souper Bowl of Caring fundraiser, a national youth movement focused on tackling hunger in local communities. Donations will go to the Racine County Food Bank.

There will be an area in the Gathering Area dedicated to these canned goods.

Super Bowl Subs

Remember to pick up your sub order Sunday, February 2! All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for the mission trip to St. Louis, Missouri. Thank you for supporting our youth!

Join us weekly on Wednesdays at 1pm or Thursdays at 6:30pm at church. We will start with a short 10 minute video and then have conversation time.

We will keep our time to no more than an hour.

Please bring a NRSV or NIV translation bible with you, preferably one without study notes. The reading bookmark/ reading plan will be distributed the first week we gather together. If you cannot join us one week please contact Pastor Karen and she will fill you in so you can keep up. It's a fast pace….but well worth it!

Adult Education Sundays at LCR!

While your Sunday School or 7th - 10th grade Confirmation student spends time learning between 9:00-9:50am, join us in the family room for some Adult Education! We are excited to have several programs for adults during the education hour. Please join us for the following discussions/presentations:

February 2: Food Facts & Hunger - What is a food desert & how are we helping bring hunger to an end.

February 9: Loving Jesus: what does that mean for LCR, Us & from scripture. Come & Explore.

February 16: Jay & Kirsten Weiss are pleased to share their personal experience of their recent visit to Lumpkin, Georgia. It is there, where they further learned of and were inspired by El Refugio —— a ministry of hospitality and visitation serving immigrants detained at Stewart Detention Center, their families and friends.

Join us for all the fun and fellowship on Sundays!

Church in Community Fundraiser

We will be doing a donation drive for the month of February for the Hospitality Center. The Hospitality Center provides a safe place for all who are alone, lonely, homeless, near homeless and mentally ill to “drop-in” for rest, refreshments, and relationship.

The Hospitality Center is open every Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 pm and serves approximately 50-80 people for lunch each day.

There are several tags on the tree in the Gathering Area with donation amounts. Please take a tag and put your donation in the offering plate or in the drop box on the office door. Thank you for helping us partner with this important ministry in our community.

Living Faith Meal February 2

We need volunteers for several items for the upcoming meal at Living Faith Church. Items needed are casseroles, salads, desserts, and servers. This meal typically has 75-80 people. We need about 8-10 people to help serve. Food should be delivered to Living Faith Church by 4 pm and servers should be there by 4:15. The address for Living Faith Church is 2915 Wright Avenue, Racine. Please sign up at the information desk in the Gathering Area.

Brown Bag Bible Study

Please join us Wednesday, February 12 at 11:30 am for Brown Bag Bible Study. We are moving it up a week this month. Bring a lunch and an open mind as we continue to delve into the series Grace by Max Lucado. We look forward to this time of learning together!

Request From One of Our Confirmands

I am Tessa Ramcke and I am in 9th grade. I am doing a service project this year. I will be making baby blankets for babies in hospitals. I will be accepting any fleece material to make this project possible. Donations can be dropped off in the church office. Thank you for your help!

Please help us pray for the following this coming week

Please pray for healing for Mary Wildenberg as she battles pneumonia.

Please pray for strength and courage for Deb, a friend and co-worker of a member, who has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time.

Please pray for comfort for the aging & ailing. Please pray for strength for the children on this journey with their parents.

Please pray for Baba Doka Yerima, the oldest member of the Waja translation team in Nigeria. He recently had surgery to address cancer. Pray that he would have a good recovery from the surgery and any follow-up procedures that are necessary.

Please pray for healing for our members facing health concerns: Gary Hagen, Sandy Nielsen, Sandy Miller, Jamie Doe, Jim DeCamp, Kit Canman, Don Schwartz, Mel Christopherson, John and Jacki Kirt, Julie Oesau and Shirley Alton.
