How fitting that we pause today to honor motherhood in general and all our mothers living and in eternity. This celebration is actually kind of special to us priests. You will re- call that Our Lord said, And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or chil- dren or lands for the sake of my name will receive a hun- dred times more.(Mt 19:29) So we get hundreds of mothers throughout our lifetimes, even the Mother of Christ! So Mothers Day is pretty special for us priests. Gradual Re-opening of Church—By now you have probably read Bishop Bellisarios letter of May 8th (www.archdioceseofanchorage.org) in which he allows for the gradual reopening of churches and other parish facilities in a phased approach in the next few weeks. In the next few days, we will be developing our own Parish Safety and Mitigation Plan. Watch the parish website and Facebook page for details. My hope is to open The Cloister and the church for prayer at certain hours each day, beginning on Tuesday, May 19th, and start daily Mass beginning on Tuesday, May 26th, right af- ter Memorial Day. The reason is simply so that we can get the wrinkles ironed out during the weekdays. Thus, we will be better prepared for the weekend. Please note, that as of this writing we are still lim- ited in the Municipality to 50 persons total for any gathering , including the priest and lector, etc. Thus, it is unlikely that we will have public Masses on the week- ends in the church at this time. I will be meeting with staff and the Liturgy Committee soon, to discuss the pos- sibilities of having a drive-in Mass on Saturday evenings and a livestreamed Mass on Sunday mornings with the distribution of Holy Communion to follow each. All lit- urgies will be streamed. Stay tuned for details later this week. Many, many thanks to all who have been sup- porting the parish financially—either through online giving or by mailing in your envelopes and dona- tions. It has really made a difference and allowed us to retain staff employed. - Fr. Happy Mother’s Day! How fitting that we pause today to honor motherhood in general and all our mothers living and in eternity. This celebration is actually kind of special to us priests. You will re-

call that Our Lord said, “And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or chil-dren or lands for the sake of my name will receive a hun-dred times more.” (Mt 19:29) So we get hundreds of mothers throughout our lifetimes, even the Mother of Christ! So Mother’s Day is pretty special for us priests.

Gradual Re-opening of Church—By now you have probably read Bishop Bellisario’s letter of May 8th (www.archdioceseofanchorage.org) in which he allows for the gradual reopening of churches and other parish facilities in a phased approach in the next few weeks. In the next few days, we will be developing our own Parish Safety and Mitigation Plan. Watch the parish website and Facebook page for details.
