HCAS Home Schooling Guidance Year 4 – Week beg. 06/07/20 Hello Year 4, please work through the following slides for your home learning this week. I have suggested how long should be spent on each activity. You are welcome to use the timetable to structure your learning. This PowerPoint will be updated and changed at the start of each week to include different activities, so please check every Monday. The activities that were already uploaded on the school website will still be there if you want to do any additional tasks. You will also find your weekly arithmetic test on our website. Please complete the activities on this PowerPoint first. I hope the tasks are clear and easy to follow and will help you in your learning. When going online, it’s important to remember all of the online safety rules we have discussed in class. Always speak to an adult if you are unsure. Hello Year 4, please work through the following slides for your home learning this week.

I have suggested how long should be spent on each activity. You are welcome to use thetimetable to structure your learning.

Spelling On Friday, we will look at how many times you have been on spelling shed this week. For every day you have been on, you will receive 5 points.Use: www.spellingshed.com and work through your weekly assigned spellings and Common Exception Words spelling lists (Y3/4) This week’s spellings contain ‘anti’ and ‘auto’. Who will make it to Royal bee this week?Use: https://spellingframe.co.uk/ and access the Year 3/4 spelling lists. Choose a spelling rule and play the games to practise the words.

Complete page 26 that involves you punctuating sentences correctly using speech marks.Tuesday – Complete page 27, you can create your own secret code, complete page 28 that involves you designing your own spy gadget. Use the story planner on page 31 to capture some of your story ideas. If you’re stuck look at the ideas on page 32.Thursday and Friday – Now you are ready to write. In your book or on a piece of paper write your story. It may take a few attempts to get a story that you are really happy with. Don’t worry about this as it is called drafting and editing and is a very important part of the writing process. Please send us your finished stories, we’d love to see them.

Religion When we do something wrong and then later feel sorry about it, we want to make up for it in some way. This is a sign that we will try to do better in the future. Reflect on some of the ways you wish to do better. Compose a prayer about this and the help/support you seek from the Holy Spirit.
