When you see Judy Smith, you can’t help feeling good.She has this infectious smile that glows as she faces allthe joy and challenges life brings. Not too long ago, Judywas faced with some physical difficulties that required astay in the Rehab Center at Thornapple Manor.

Judy and her husband, Doyle, had one goal when theyarrived at the Rehab Center – to regain her independenceso she could return home and they could resume theirlives. Judy stated, “At Thornapple Manor Rehab Center,from housekeepers to therapy staff, from nursing todietary, from administration to social services, everyonewas professional. Not only that, but they cared, genuinelycared. They became family, were compassionate, showed empathy and wrapped that allup with positivity. It was an outstanding team concept that would not let me fail.” Judygrins as she reflects, “The Physical and Occupational Therapists and their assistant hada real You Can Do it Attitude!”

Doyle added that what most impressed him was he never once heard staff memberscomplaining about their job or their co-workers. “They helped each other, all of them.”

Judy continued, “The room was lovely. And food, well, it was so well balanced, and wewere provided with an excellent assortment of choices for our meals.”

Judy is now back home enjoying her life with Doyle, but we sure miss her smile!
