Community

Club activities in the past years attracted a lot of new members to HCR community

Now practically all Harvard schools are represented at HCR

Last year we created online groups at LinkedIn and Facebook to facilitate interactions of community members

Harvard Club of Russia made substantial impact with its Global Education Initiative

Global Education Initiative

A group of HCR members created and promoted initiative to provide government support for Russian students to study in the best universities abroad

President Medvedev announced the program at the Economic Forum in Saint-Petersburg

Despite strong resistance from ministry of education the program is moving ahead

Recently Agency of Strategic Initiatives picked up the program to further develop it

The initiative received broad coverage in major newspapers, radio and TV, creating huge exposure for Harvard Club of Russia

Going forward we have a lot of ideas how to make our club better

Increase number of full members of HCR (members who paid the dues)

Engage more Russian VIP alumni to participate in HCR activities

Raise more funds from sponsors to support HCR activities

Build new HCR website to improve club communication

Continue to support current portfolio of events

Organize keynote speaker events including featuring Harvard affiliates and Russian VIPs

Organize a major black tie event

Activities

Lunch educational show on Russia channel with participation of HCR members

Support Global Russian Education and develop new high-impact initiatives

Identify, build relationships and provide expertise support to a major think-tank in Russia
