This Sunday I will preach a sermon entitled “The Gospel In Eight Verses”. If someone were to ask you to give a technical definition of the gospel you might just say “it means the good news of Jesus Christ”. However, for someone who is genuinely interested in finding out about the gospel, would this be enough? Could you, as a child of God, explain what the good news actually is in such a way that someone who has no idea might want to continue learning about it? Sometimes it’s difficult to get into conversations we aren’t ready to give an answer about. This Sunday I hope to give everyone a simple explanation that we can easily share with others, in eight simple verses from God’s Word, about why the good news is something we should “read all about”.

HYG Mission Trip: In this bulletin and from the pulpit I have talked a lot about the mission trip several will be taking this summer to Orlando, so I wanted to quickly give you all an update. Once again we will travel to Orlando and conduct a VBS, work in a women’s shelter and help out at a food bank. We have around 3,700.00 more dollars to raise in total before we reach our goal for full funding. This includes all lodging and travel expenses for the 24 going on a 6 day mission trip. Thank you to those who have donated money and to the yard sale. If anyone else would like to donate monetarily it would be greatly appreciated and can be given to Dianne or me.

Pew Packers: Parents don’t forget about our pew packers program each Sunday evening at 5:45. We go over questions about things the kids are learning in Bible class, other Bible trivia and we sing songs. The kids really seem to enjoy it. It is for all kids 5th grade and under.
