Wednesday, January 30th – 11:30-1 Darcie Bentz Too often we stay in unhealthy relationships because we are in “love,” when the reality is that love is not abuse. Darcie Bentz from the YWCA will present about the basics of do- mestic and sexual violence starting with the core problem, POWER AND CONTROL. Topics include domestic violence, sexual violence, the cycle of abuse, power and control, preven- tion methods, and the services offered by the YWCA. Pennsylvania’s Telecommunication Device Distribution Program (TDDP) provides specialized equipment, FREE, to eligible Pennsylvanians who have disabilities which impede them from hav- ing independent access to telephone services. People with disabilities includes people who are deaf, hard of hearing, speech impaired, blind or have visual problems, have physical disabilities or intellectual disabilities. Terry Heffelfinger’s presentation will include a demonstration of the telephone equipment. Training Calendar 2012 - 2013 continued

The Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania, under contract from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, has developed a statewide Education and Training Program aimed at increasing par-ticipants’ knowledge and understanding of brain injury. Trainings are designed for profession-als in various fields who may come into contact with people who have sustained a brain injury in the course of their practice. Trainings are customized to address the specific needs of the audience to which they are being delivered, with a focus on providing information and skills necessary to meet the unique needs of individuals with brain injury. The content is designed to provide practical information to help professionals screen, refer, and provide meaningful inter-ventions for their clients.

Kathy Stocki from the Parent Education Network will present this training on Bullying Prevention which is designed to educate parents, educators, students and community members about bully-ing and to develop strategies for bullying prevention for children at home, school and online.

Private Duty Nursing: Intake to DischargeWednesday, April 3rd – 11:30-1Lyndsay Coleman

Lyndsay Coleman from Maxim Healthcare Services will discuss how Private Duty services differ from traditional Home Health Care, common diagnoses often requiring PDN, and the service delivery process of PDN from intake to admission, to continuity of care through discharge.

Consumers may call the LINK for information about anthing: fuel assistance, in home services, housing, employment ser-vices and more.
