"Poor thing, going to !ogwarts and cant even do any magic.

"!ey even I cant do magicyet. said Albus more to homas then his brother.

"Shame upon you Al. 1osies your age and she can do magic you wouldnt have even dreamed

of.

")ell could you do magic when you were going to !ogwarts for the first time& asked Albus.

"*f course I could. Aunt !ermione had taught me a few tricks, but she didnt teach you Al

because she likes me more than you.

"%ea said homas, getting e-cited

/ames took out his wand and pointed it towards homas. An evil smile stretching across his

face.

")hat are you doing /ames& asked Albus getting suspicious

"/ust showing the kid some magic.

Albus took out his wand and pointed it towards /ames. "Stop /ames+ I know you are trying to

curse homas. "#ven if I am then what are you going to do Al& 2urse me& said /ames and

started laughing."Put down the wand /ames, Im warning you.

ut /ames laughed more loudly and started to move the wand.

"3#4I2*1P5S+ said Albus and both /ames and Albus fell backwards from the force of the he-.

/ames stood up his face full of anger. ")here did you learn that fromAlbus&

"6rom Dads old burned and battered Potions book that had scribbling all over it.

he compartment door opened and 4ictoire )easley entered.

")hats going on here& said 4ictoire

"Albus 7ust cursed me+

"%ou mean he did magic& Albus did you do magic&

Albus nodded looking scared

"*h thats great, said 4ictoire and she moved forward and hugged Albus.

"4ic+ !e cursed me. As a head girl you should do something, said /ames angrily

"*h Im sure his magic didnt hurt you.

"%oure still angry at me because I disturbed you while you were snogging eddy&

"0o of course not /ames.

ut /ames turned scarlet and moved out of the compartment

4ictoire called /ames and went after him.

")*)+ Said homas, "hat was scary.

"%ea it was, replied Albus

he compartment door opened and 1osie entered.

"!eard you did magic Al& said 1osie

"%es I did. Isnt that great& Said Albus

")hich incantation did you use&

"!mm, never heard of it. said 1osie, "*h by the way Im 1osie )easley and she moved her

hand towards homas.

"homas and he shook her hand. "So is Slytherin bad& said homas looking at Albus.

1osie replied "'y dad says it is but mom refuses.

"%ou know said Albus looking at both of them "Im named for two headmasters of !ogwarts.

*ne of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man my dad ever knew.

CHAPTER TWO: The Sorting Ceremony

he !ogwarts #-press slowed right down and finally stopped. People pushed their way towards

the door and out on to a tiny, dark platform. Albus, homas and 1osie stepped out in the cold

night shivering dressed in their new school robes. hen a lamp came bobbling from the distance

and the man who was holding it shouted, "6irs8years+ 6irs8years over here+

1ubeus !agrids big hairy face beamed over the sea of heads.

"All right there Albus& limey you look e-actly like yeh dad when he was yer age. I still

remember that day+ !agrid looked like he was remembering something when suddenly he

remembered what he was there for.

"*i+ 6irs8 years follow me. 2mon dont be shy. 'ind yer step, now+

All the first years followed !agrid who lead them to the great black lake. "0o moren four to a

boat+ pointing to several boats sitting on the water by the shore.

Albus, homas and 1osie were followed in their boat by a blonde hair boy. )hen everyone had

settled down the boats started moving towards the castle. he blonde boy was staring at Albus

with a shocked e-pression on his face.

"Anything wrong& asked Albus to the boy

"%ou are Albus Severus Potter& asked the boy

"%es, who are you&

"Im 0elson 2reevey+ *h Im so e-cited to finally meet you. 'y Dad would be so proud. 'et

Albus Severus Potter in the boat. *h what is he gonna say. I must tell him now+ 2an I $ 2an Itake your picture as a proof. !e wont believe me unless I have some proof. 2an I&

"0ice to meet you too 0elson, replied Albus, looking at homas and 1osie for some help.

"Do you have your camera now 0elson& asked 1osie.

"%es I have it in my bag, said 0elson e-citedly

")hich I presume you left it in the train&

"*h no+ )hat have I done+ I must go back and get my camera. Dads gonna kill me if I loose it.

"Dont worry 0elson. %our luggage will be taken to !ogwarts.

0elson became 9uiet with a worried e-pression on his face which Albus was sure was because

of his camera. ")ell thats a relief, said homas

"%ou know my Dad told me that in his second year he and 5ncle 1onald arrived at !ogwarts in

a flying car which belonged to my granddad, and he crashed in a huge tree which was called$Albus said.

"he )homping )illow, replied 1osie "'om was furious and Dad also got a howler from grand

mom.

"!owler& asked homas.

"Ill e-plain it later, right now Im too hungry to say anything, replied Albus.

he little boats carried them along a dark tunnel, which seemed to be taking them right

underneath the castle, until they reached a kind of underground harbour, where they clambered

out on to rocks and pebbles. hey walked up a flight of stone steps and crowded around the

huge oak front door. !agrid raised a gigantic fist and knocked three times on the castle door.

he door swung open at once. A tall black haired witch was standing smiling at all the scared

faces.

"he firs8years, Professor rown, said !agrid.

"hank you !agrid. I will take them from here. 6ollow me children.

hey followed Professor rown who led them to another huge oak door. She stopped and

addressed the children.

")elcome to !ogwarts dear. eyond these doors is the (reat !all where the sorting ceremony

will take place. 0ow in a few moments, youll pass through these doors and 7oin your

classmates. ut before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. hey are

(ryffindor, !ufflepuff, 1avenclaw and Slytherin. 0ow while youre here your houses will be like

your family. %our triumphs will earn you points. Any rule breaking and you will lose points. At theend of the year, the house with the most points wins the house cup. 0ow form a line and follow

me.

he door opened and they followed Professor rown till the end of the (reat !all where she

motioned them to stop.

"0ow when I call your name you will sit on the stool. he sorting hat will be placed on your head

and you will be sorted.

She read out the names from the parchment which she had in her hands. "Im scared, homas

told Albus.

"heres nothing to be scared of. e brave. hats the sign of the (ryffindor house, said Albus.

After 0elson 2reevey was sorted into (ryffindor, Professor rown called "'alfoy, Scorpius+

Scorpius moved forward with a grim e-pression on his face.

")hats wrong with him, asked homas

"Probably he knows that hes going to go to Slytherin, said Albus.

After Scorpius 'alfoy and Ditrius (oyle were sorted into Slytherin, Professor rown called

")easley, 1osie+

"1osie looking confident went and sat on the stool. Professor rown placed the hat on her head.

"Ah+ Another )easley again, said the hat rather boringly. "0ow its a very difficult thing to sort a

)easley isnt it& 'ost of the people gave a laugh. ")ell then be (ryffindor+

he whole of the (ryffindor table which was half occupied by the )easley children stood and

clapped.

"Steller, homas+

homas looking scared looked at Albus.

"e brave+ said Albushomas moved forward and sat on the stool whispering "Im brave constantly.

he hat was put on his head and said !mm$ that you are boy. So now theres only one house

which takes the brave ones. (ryffindor+

homas smiled and went to the (ryffindor table who was clapping for their new classmate.

0ow only Albus was left.

"Potter, Albus Severus+

As soon as Professor rown called Albuss name the whole school became 9uite and still. Albus

moved forward and sat on the stool. As soon as the hat touched his head it said "Ah now this is

the head which I wanted to sort out. Son of the hero of !ogwarts and named after the greatest

wiard and headmaster !ogwarts has seen in its many years. Ah yes+ %ou seem to have those

9ualities that your father and the one youre named after had. So better be $ (ryffindor+

he whole school erupted in applause but not even the other three houses could compare the

happiness of the (ryffindor table that was applauding most enthusiastically. Arlius Doge, the

headmaster of !ogwarts stood up and addressed the whole school.

")elcome+ he said. ")elcome to a new year at !ogwarts+ efore we begin our ban9uet, I have

a few start of term notices that I wish to announce. he first years please note that the dark

forest is strictly forbidden to all students. All those who wish to give the 9uidditch try outs, please

coordinate with your house captains.

Albus was sitting between homas and 1osie eating the most wonderful dinner he ever had.

"!ey homas you wanna know my family& said Albus."%ea sure

"%ou met 4ictoire on the train, said Albus pointing to the red heads along the (ryffindor table.

"She, #liabeth and 'ichael are 5ncle ills children. 1obert and !elena are 5ncle 2harlies

children. )illiam and Ale- are 5ncle Percys boys. y the way 5ncle Percy is the

undersecretary to the minister :ingsley Shacklebolt. 6red and Diane are 5ncle (eorges

children who own that shop which you mentioned in the train. )easleys )iard )heees.

/ames is my brother and 1osies 5ncle 1onalds daughter. 'y Dad is the head in the Aurors

department. Aurors are dark wiards catcher, said Albus before homas could ask what were

Aurors.

"!ey Al+ (ood work little brother, said /ames

"So youre talking to me now&

"%eah well I forgive you. After all you are my littlebrother.

"%ou forgive me& %ou were the one who was trying to curse homas+

")ell thats true too, said /ames without apologiing.

"So youre not sad that Im in (ryffindor&

"Sad& I would have killed you if you had gone to Slytherin, said /ames smiling. "See you little

owards the end of the feast Albus thought that this day couldnt have been better.

CHAPTER THREE: The Prank

he ne-t few days were not as bad as homas thought it would be. oth Albus and homas

were pretty good at magic, even though 1osie was much better. hey were going to have their

first !erbology lesson that day. As they walked towards the !erbology greenhouses they saw

some (ryffindors and 1avenclaws coming out from the greenhouse. /ames was leading the

group staring at some girls of 1avenclaws.

"2ome on 2hang+ It was a 7oke, said /ames

"A 7oke+ aking out my best friends earmuffs while the mandrakes are crying. %ou call that a

7oke, shouted 3ana.

")ell everybody did laugh, said /ames in a matter8of8fact tone

"%eah well your friends are like you Potter$ arrogant and obno-ious. In short toe8rags+

")ell as the legend says, I take after my late granddad$..the best prankster ever.

"%ou are pathetic Potter, said 3ana and she and her friends hurried away.

homas who was looking at the whole scene turned to Albus.

"Are you completely sure that he wasnt mi-ed up or something with another new born at St.

'ungos during birth&....because you two neither seem nor act the same.

")ell to be honest, there are times when I wonder the same thing$ ut you know what, the

legend he 7ust mentioned$ its pretty much true.

")hat do you mean&

As they entered the greenhouse Professor 3ongbottom greeted them. !e spotted Albus

immediately and rushed towards him. "Albus how are you my lad& !ow are your parents&

"hey are fine Professor and mom send you love.

"Did she now, said Professor 3ongbottom. ")ell thats (inny. So are you e-cited to start

!erbology& I hope youre not as bad as !arry at !erbology but still (inny was much better.

Albus smiled.

")hat did your parents do for which you are so famous& asked homas.

"o be honest$ no idea+ replied Albus.

ack in the (ryffindor common room Albus pointed out to homas that the ;uidditch tryouts

were in the evening. "I dont know what ;uidditch is Albus, said homas"Dont worry Ill e-plain it to you on the way to the ;uidditch pitch.

)hen they reached the ;uidditch pitch they saw many (ryffindors lined up for the tryouts.

Albus saw /ames standing in the line and gave him a thumbs up.

")hat is your brother trying for on the team, asked homas.

"Seeker. 'y father was the youngest seeker in the history of 9uidditch. )e have 9uidditch blood

in our veins, said Albus smiling.

/ames was acting too proudly the ne-t day for becoming the seeker.

"Im !arry Potters son+ )hat do you e-pect, said /ames to all those who were congratulating

him.

!ogwarts had changed a lot in the past

the attitude of (ryffindor and Slytherin towards each other, especially before a match. Albus

suspected that /ames was up to something because he and his group of friends were alwayswatching the Slytherin table during mealtimes while discussing things that especially included

the words? @*wls and @ewitched.

)hen Albus went to breakfast 6riday morning, an owl dropped a note on Albuss plate. Albus

tore it open and found out that it was written in a very untidy scrawl.

Dear Albus

I know you get 6riday afternoons off, so would you like to come and have a cup of tea with me

around three& I want to hear all about your first week. Send an answer back with the owl.

!agrid

Albus turned to homas and 1osie who were sitting right beside him and asked "Do you wanna

come to !agrids hut& !e has invited me for tea at three.

"%ea sure, said homas and 1osie nodded.

Albus took out his 9uill, scribbled "%es, please, but Im also bringing 1osie and another friend of

mine. See you later, and sent the owl off again.

At five to three they left the castle and made their way towards the ground. Albus knocked at the

door and !agrid opened it gleaming at the sight of them.

"2omen 2omen

hey entered the hut and Albus found the hut e-actly like his father had described it to him. "Im

glad that yeh came Albus$ and you too 1osie. !arry, 1on and !ermione used to visit me 7uslike this every 6riday. *h by the way how are they&

"6ine replied both Albus and 1osie.

"!agrid, this is my friend homas, said Albus

"0ice to meet yeh homas.

"0ice to meet you to Professor, said homas.

"*h call me !agrid.

hey all sat and !agrid provided them with tea and rock cakes which were too hard to eat.

"'y Dad warned me of these cakes, said Albus 9uietly so only homas could hear.

)hen they were returning to the castle they saw /ames and 6red coming out discussing

something slowly.

")hat are you two up to, asked Albus

"0othing little bro. )ere 7ust mailing some presents for our green friends, said /ames and both

6red and /ames went hurriedly towards the owlery, laughing.

)hen it was time for dinner Albus and homas reached the great hall and saw that most of the

students were already there. hey went and sat on the (ryffindor table. /ames was already

sitting and was constantly looking at the place from where owls delivered the letters and gifts.

"#-pecting a letter /ames, asked Albus

"%oull see in a few minutes Al.

Surely after several minutes many owls came and instead of going in every tables direction, all

the owls flew to the Slytherin table and started dropping Snargaluff pods down on to the

students, whose heads were suddenly engulfed in wriggling, green tubers like fat worms.All the (ryffindors, !ufflepuffs and 1avenclaws erupted in laughter and applause. he first

years Slytherins stood up and started running here and there, banging their slime and worm8

filled heads into others and into the walls. All the teachers hurried over to the Slytherins and

removed the green tubers with flicks of their wands.

Albus saw /ames and his fellow friends laughing their heads off at the scene taking place in

front of them. !e hurried off to /ames.

")hat the hell was that&

"2hill little bro. /ust a trick that 5ncle (eorge taught me at home this summer.

"%ou can get detention. ")ell nobody saw us, so no worries.

"I did+

"Are you gonna give me in Al, asked /ames

"0o wonder 3ana hates you.

/ames immediately looked at the 1avenclaw table and saw 3ana giving him a disgusting look.

)hen Albus went back to his seat homas said "2hill mate. It was 7ust a 7oke.

Albus couldnt help but give a laugh wondering how different he was from his brother.

1osie who was watching all of the mishap without laughing whispered in Albuss ear

"%our brother is a genius.

CHAPTER FOUR: Hero o Hogwarts

6ew months had passed and still the school had not forgotten the incident that had happened

with the Slytherins. Students from the other three houses came from time to time to congratulate

/ames, being careful not to be overheard by the teachers. Although /ames hadnt told anyone

that he was the one behind the mishap, but even then everyone knew that it could be no one

e-cept the elder Potter.

1osie impressed every teacher who told her that she was e-actly like her mom, but somehow

the 2harms Professor #dgecombe didnt get impressed by her intelligence.

*nce in a 2harms class when 1osie who didnt know that Professor #dgecombe was standing

right behind them, asked Albus and homas, "!ow do you reckon she got such ugly spots

across her face. It doesnt seem natural. Professor #dgecombe startled her by whispering in

her ear, ")hy dont you ask that your mom dear.

)hile Albus and homas were getting pretty good at magic, especially in Defence Against the

Dark Arts. hey were the first ones to learn the disarming spell for which the (ryffindor houseearned many points.

Albus usually got many letters from his parents for whom he replied several times, but the most

unusual one was the letter which he received from his father.

Dear Albus

Im really glad to hear that you were the first one to learn #-pelliarmus, after all, this spell is my

signature spell, saved me from many tight spots in the past. Im hoping to see you this coming

PS? Ill be bringing a very special gift for you.

"Is there a Parents 'eeting this week, asked homas who was also reading the letter with

Albus.

")hat do you mean&

"%ou know the one in which parents come and have a meeting with the teachers. In my muggle

school we had two meetings a year.

"here are no such meetings at !ogwarts.

"So what does he mean by hoping to see you this week. Are parents allow to come and see

their children if they miss them too much& "I dont think so. 5nless the student is wounded

badly. A month is still left for 2hristmas. )hat does Dad mean&

")ell if he really is coming then hes bringing you a special gift. %ou should be happy+

After a few days, Albuss confusion regarding his Dads last letter was answered when

!eadmaster Arlius Doge stood up at the end of the feast and made an announcement.

"Students, tomorrow morning 'r. !arry Potter, the head of the Aurors department is going to

visit our school to give a lecture on Defence Against the Dark Arts. 0ow I would like all of you to

be on your best behavior and learn as much as you can from 'r. Potter. hank %ou. #veryone

was very e-cited to meet !arry. After all, there was a whole section on the oy )ho 3ived in the

0ew !ogwarts, A !istory.

here was a loud crack at the gates of !ogwarts ne-t morning, and a man in his late thirties 7ust

appeared. !e was wearing emerald robes which matched his eyes. !e took out his circularglasses and cleaned it with a flick of his wand.

!arry looked at the castle and a wide smile came across his face. !e touched his lightning

shaped scar which had not pained him for the greatest Sorcerer in the world and the

best headmaster !ogwarts had ever seen.

!arry took out his glasses and wiped off the tear that had fallen from his eyes.

"#-pecto Patronum said !arry.

he stag burst from his wand and scurried off inside the castle towards the great hall to give the

headmaster the message of his arrival.

!arry entered the (reat !all, presuming that it would have changed since the attle of

!ogwarts, but the (reat !all was still as he had remembered. he candles were floating in mid8

air and the high enchanted ceiling showed the weather that was outside. As !arry moved along

the (reat !all towards the staff table, he knew that every eye was watching him, some standing

to have a proper glance at the protagonist$of their bed8time stories. !arry reached the staff

table and greeted the headmaster and gave a smile to 0eville and !agrid, who smiled in return.

!arry turned towards the students and everyone settled and became 9uite.

"Defence Against the Dark Arts is not 7ust about trying hard, its about believing in what is right

and what is 7ustified by 3aw. 2ompleting the statement !arry smiled and continued. "Im !arry

Potter and Im here to give a lecture on Defence Against the Dark Arts to the fifth year and

onwards students, but there is something that I wish to share with all of you. !arry remembered

a sentence, which in his fifth year he had enunciated to his fellow members of the Dumbledores

Army, and by doing so had inspired them beyond measure. !e felt the necessity for it to be

repeated again in front of everyone.

"#very great wiard in history, started out as nothing more than what you all are now, if they

could do it$ if we could do it$ if I could do it$ then so can you all.

#veryone applauded for !arry when he finished his speech. he headmaster stood up and said

"6ine words 'r. Potter.

"hank %ou, !eadmaster.

!arry went and sat between 0eville and !agrid who had tears falling from his beetle like eyes.

CHAPTER F!"E: A Christmas Present

It was morning and !arry was walking with 0eville from the greenhouses towards the castle.

"!ow is 3unas e-ploration going, asked !arry.

"(reat. She writes to me every week telling all the things shes doing and the creatures she has

discovered.

"She still believes that those creatures e-ist&

")ell no. She told me that she understands now that her father was wrong about many things,

but you know 3una. Shes determined that shell find something which the world has never seen

before.

"I hope she doesnt get into trouble.

0eville was smiling")hat&

"It sounds funny hearing this from you. After all the troubles we went through.

oth of them smiled. 0eville pointed to a place.

"hat was the place where I chopped of the snakes head. 1emember&

"%eah, how can I forget$ so u still have the sword with you&

0eville nodded. "I keep it in my office safe, as a symbol of my bravery.

"I miss this place so much. hose seven years were both the best and the worst of my life. I lost

many loved ones and gained valuable friends.

Approaching the castle, a realiation struck !arry$..those seven years of his life had felt like a

lifetime and the past

Albus looked at his father with a confused e-pression on his face. !arry smiled and said, ")ear

it. Albus threw the cloak around his shoulders and homas gave a yell. Albuss whole body

e-cept the face had vanished.

")hat is that, e-claimed homas.

!arry replied, "Its an Invisibility 2loak and mind you its really rare.

"Its amaing, said Albus."0ow listen, Al. Ive not given you this 2loak for fun. %ou must use it only when you really

re9uire it and dont tell anyone that you have this cloak. %ou can tell 1osie of course.

")hat about /ames&

")ell he has already taken two of my pried possessions before he came to !ogwarts this year,

and one of them he took without my permission.

Albus couldnt e-press his happiness in words so he hugged his father and said, "hank %ou,

Dad.

"%our welcome my son. 0ow this is your 2hristmas present so you wont get any on 2hristmas

Day$ and remember one thing. 5se it well.

"I will Dad.

!arry now turned towards homas and asked, "0ow as for you young man. !ow would you like

your mothers memory to be revived as a 2hristmas Present&

homas replied, "ut the doctors have said that$

"0ow you are forgetting one thing homas. *ur healers have one thing that muggle doctors

dont have$ 'agic.

homas looked thunderstruck and didnt have any words to say to !arry who smiled and said,

"%our welcome homas. 0ow off you go both or youll miss your classes.

hey both hurried of towards the castle thinking about the best 2hristmas gifts that they had 7ust

received.

!agrid who was alone with !arry in the hut asked him, "So are yeh goin back today&"0o way, e-claimed !arry. "/ames will kill me if I miss his final ;uidditch match.

CHAPTER S!#: The Wi$$ o a %ion

!arry arrived at the ;uidditch Pitch and felt like he was back at the place where he used to truly

shine. !e went towards the staffs stand and sat with 0eville. y eleven oclock the whole

school seemed to be out on the stands around the ;uidditch Pitch.

Albus and homas 7oined 1osie up in the top row.

!arry was watching the place from where the (ryffindor team enters the pitch. 6ew minutes

later the (ryffindor team along with the Slytherin team flew onto the pitch. /ames was flying on

the 6irebolt which his father had given him at the start of the term. Although this particular

6irebolt model was not the fastest broom at the time, it still was pretty fast.;uidditch 2oach :atie ell was refereeing. She stood in the middle of the pitch, waiting for the

two teams, her broom in her hand.

"0ow, I want a nice fair game, all of you, she said, once they were all gathered around her,

referring especially to the Slytherin team.

:atie ell gave a loud blast on her silver whistleB the ;uaffle, ludgers and the Snitch flew high

up in the air. he match had commenced.

"And the ;uaffle has been grabbed e-peditiously by Diane )easley of (ryffindor$ what an

2hris /ordan was doing the commentary for the match. !e was as good as his father but not as

humorous. "And shes really belting along up there, a neat pass to rad 6innigan, back to Diane

Diane )easley surely knows how to abuse the Slytherin eater Demetrius (vorsky, and shall I

2haser Augustus Doyle, hes speeding off towards the goalposts, S'A2:#D+ by a second

flash of gold that had passed his ear.

Seeker had seen it, too. Side by Side they hurtled towards the Snitch > all the players seemed

to have forgotten what they were supposed to be doing as they hung in mid8air to watch. /ames

was faster than the Slytherin Seeker, he put up an e-tra surge of speed. he Slytherin 2aptain

attempted to prevent /ames catching the Snitch by coming between him and the Snitch but/ames was flying so fast that he knocked the Slytherin 2aptain off his broom. )atching his

2aptain fall to the ground, enraged the Slytherin Seeker, who tried to avenge his 2aptains

descent. !e went sideways FparallelG, away from /ames, keeping his velocity and gaining as

much momentum as he could. )ith all the strength he could muster, the Seeker came back into

/ames and collided viciously into him. 6or a second everyone in the stands assumed that

/ames was going to fall off, but the 1ed Seeker had turned upside down clutching his broom

with his hands and feet, his back facing the hard, solid ground many feet below.

possibly make its way through the crowd that was struck with awe > the (ryffindor Seeker

came back, intending a second collision. his time, however, /ames was prepared and as the

(reen Seeker came within inches of knocking him off, /ames, this timeB with all the remaining

energy he could marshal, deliberately rotated HC degrees on his broom. he Slytherin Seeker

went past /ames and crashed hard into the opposite stand. he whole school erupted in cheers

and laughter at this backfired vicious act. 6inally, /ames could clearly see the little round ball,

wings flutteringB darting up ahead he stretched his hand and felt the ball coming in his grasp.

'ost of the school stood up and 7oined in the celebration of the (ryffindors who were cheering

memory came back. hey were having dinner in the (reat !all when Albus for the umpteenth

Scorpius didnt move and saw his friend running away. !e turned and saw /ames standing, his

friends carefully.

homas didnt know what made him do it, but he took out his wand, pointed it at /ames and

/ames wand flew out of his hand and with a thud Scorpius fell to the ground. /ames found his

wand lying at the floorB picking it up, he pointed it ahead but saw both Scorpius and homas

pointing their wands at him.

/ames, however, knew that he couldnt take on those two alone, backing up slowly he receded

at the end of the corridor.

"Ill keep an eye on bothof you, said /ames and turned away.

homas lowering his wand saw /ames disappearing out of sight. ")hy did I do that& !e was

Albuss brother, my best friends brother.

Scorpius turned to Albus.

"0o problem, replied homas, still taken aback by what had 7ust transpired.

"Im Scorpius 'alfoy by the way.

"homas. So why did /ames attack you."Potters dont need reasons to attack anyone. ")hat& hats not true.

0e-t morning Albus and homas were having their breakfast when an owl dropped a letter on

At five to three Albus and homas made their way through the grounds towards !agrids !ut.

Albus knocked and !agrid let them in.

!e saw an odd black stone which had a 7agged crack running down the centre, lying a few feet

from where !agrid told them !arry was standing before he was hit by the curse.

stashed it in the pocket of his robes.

heir e-ams were getting nearer, which kept them occupied with revision. homas had not told

Albus or 1osie about the biarre black stone he had found in the forest, as they would not be

interested in itB but somehow it fascinated homas who always kept it in his pocket. wo

consecutive periods for Potions had ended and !erbology was ne-t, so they made their way to

the greenhouses.

"oday you will learn how to take care of all the strange plants and fungi and find out what they

are used for, addressed Professor 3ongbottom to the whole class.

homas raised his hands.

A day before they were to return home, Albus woke up and found homas sitting in the armchair

knowing that it would be empty. homas sat on his four8poster bedB giving a second thought to

whether attempt the thing he had been planning for the past few hours. 6inally he stood up,

glanced at his luggage that he had already packed yesterdayB making sure that he had the

resurrection stone in his pocket, moved out of the dormitory and through the 6at 3adys portrait.

moved out into the grounds. !e reached the end of the forest and stopped.

(lancing back to make sure he wasnt being followed, homas entered the forest. !e was

intending to go to the place where he had found the resurrection stone. Although the darkness

was making it 9uite hard to 7udge the right way, he knew he would eventually reach his

destination. A sense of combined e-citement and uneasiness started filling him up as he

traversed the forest grounds. !is wand discharged enough glow to illuminate the path ahead,

and subconsciously homas treaded to the place where his last tryst would take place. After a
