1. Our quest begins on Parker’s Piece, in the middle where two paths cross. Here you’ll find a lamp post with 4 hanging lanterns and lettering etched in gold. What does the lettering spell?

Between the City Council office and St Andrew’s Church, you’ll find an old building with big wooden doors once used by the police. High up is a blue plaque. The most rested horse was what?

until you find a museum with a dinosaur on its sign. Locate the museum entrance. What prehistoric skeleton is prowling at the bottom of the staircase?

- - - -4. On leaving the museum, turn left along Downing Street. It becomes Pembroke

Street. Up ahead is a tall white brick building. Here, turn right into Free School Lane. On the right hand side, find a building made of sand coloured stone. Where did J.J.Thomson discover the electron in 1897?

when you reach Market Square. Pass the Guildhall on your right. In the corner of the square is a brightly coloured sculpture. What is resting on top of the top hat?

6. Go along the length of Petty Cury and turn left into Sidney Street. Who lived above the pharmacy?

- - - - - - - - - - - - -7. Turn left into Market Street. When you get to Market Square you’ll see a

building up ahead on the right hand side, with columns projecting out onto the pavement. On the first corner of this building (and on the corner of a little street called Rose Crescent), there is a plaque on the wall with ‘Calverley’s Ode to Tobacco’. According to the poem, they who use fusees all grow by slow degrees brainless as what?

- - - - - - - - - - -8. Go under the building with the projecting columns, past 4 red telephone boxes

(keeping the telephone boxes to your left) and turn left at the end. Find the church entrance. To the right is a plaque. Who set up the first true milestones in Britain since Roman times?

- - - - - - - - - - - - -9. Keep going along Kings Parade, keeping Kings College Chapel to your right. Pass

the college entrance. Further along the college wall opposite the Cambridge Chop House, standing in a niche high up on the wall is a statue of a king who had 6 wives. Name this king.

- - - - - - - - -10. Well done for getting this far! Now here’s the tricky part. You need to use

letters from your previous answers to find the final clue, using the corresponding numbers.
