GENERAL INFORMATION

Our department was founded according as Harran University Faculty of Engineering in 1993. Our department began to take students in 1993-1994 academic year, and its first graduates were given in 1997. Mechanical engineering department has continued its education to the end of 2002 in Yenişehir campus than moved to the its new buildings called as Osmanbey campus in the spring semester of 2002-2003 academic year where it is located 20 miles from the Şanlıurfa.

Working Area

İnterest of Mechanical Engineering is consist of from the nuclear power plant to central heating installations, from sports cars to bicycles, from washing machine, to petro-chemical facilities, from refrigerator to ice-skating track and etc.

Mechanical engineers can work in all kinds of machinery, design and manufacturing, electrical machinery, petro-chemical, food, iron and steel, aircraft, automotive and textile industries; Hydro-Electricity, Nuclear and Thermal Power Plants, Building Engineering (Heating, Cooling), R& D(Research and Development) etc. sectors in various units of operation, such as maintenance, repairment, production, quality control, design, project marketing, construction, consultancy and administrative tasks.
