There are a number of delightful discoveries waiting for you in our community. We pride ourselves on maintaining a small town atmosphere and realizing the true meaning of living in Harmony. Harmony to us is more than a name. It has become a way of life as we live together in harmony with our Amish neighbors and maintain a degree of harmony among industry, tourism and our business district. We invite you and welcome you to experience a bit of harmonyin your life.

There are many organizations and businesses that help make our community “The Biggest Little Town in Southern Minnesota.”

AttractionsNiagara Cave is an underground wonderland, millions of years in the making. It was discovered under a sinkhole and was explored and developed over the years as local residents turned the cave into a well-known tourist attraction. Located far beneath the surface of the earth, it has a consistent temperature of 48 degrees year round. There are many aspects of the cave which make it unique including a 60-foot waterfall, a crystal wedding chapel, fossils and stalactites.

The Harmony Area Historical Society has developed a Karst geological interpretive site as an educational tool for both local residents and visitors to the area. An observation deck, with interpretive signage, will allow visitors to view a sinkhole, learn about how it was formed and why it is important to our environment.

The Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail begins in Harmony with over 60 Miles of paved recreational trail taking you through Bluff Country.

Visit the homes and farms of the Amish families living around Harmony. View fine Amish craftsmanship and purchase Amish goods, such as baked goods, baskets, wood crafts, candy, quilts and more. While traveling through the beautiful farm country, learn about the history and beliefs of the Amish community and how their lifestyle differs from modern ways, while giving us all a glimpse of how our own ancestors lived and farmed in bygone days.

The Amish community, consisting of over 100 families, is concentrated in the area around Canton and Harmony. The Amish Buggy Byway is a stretch of Highway 52 between Preston and Prosper with wide shoulders for buggies.

Harmony is home to the largest woodcarving museum in the United States. The Woodshed Museum features carvings from all around the world and a 120- piece two-ring circus. Everything from small pieces carved out of matchsticks to large chainsaw pieces.

A Hobo Camp consisting of life-sized, wood-carved figures is located at the trailhead park. Interpretive signage has been provided by the Harmony Area Historical Society.
