The sound-testing facility in Milwaukee is pushing the possibilities. Inside, 1,400 anti-echo fiberglass wedges cover the walls. There’s a motorcycle sitting dead centre. We start it up and sound technicians in the control booth record it, analyse it and continually adjust the parts to produce precisely the exhaust notes we want. It’s a lot of effort and a major investment, but this is just part of what makes a Harley, a Harley.
