WILEY X EUROPE LAUNCHES NEW PRESCRIPTION PROGRAM
Since we started our co-operation with Harley-Davidson®, there have been many requests for sunglasses with prescription lenses. Unfortunately, European law says that you must be an authorized optician to sell prescription eyewear, as these are documented as a medical supply, and according to our contract with Harley-Davidson® we are not allowed to sell the frames to opticians. Realizing the high demand for proper riding eyewear with prescription lenses we have been looking further into this matter for a while, and we have now found a loophole.
It turns out that since we have opticians working in our office, we are actually authorized to sell prescription eyewear directly to Harley-Davidson® dealerships across Europe. This can result in an increase in your target group and higher revenues on eyewear, and the ordering process is actually quite easy.
If you in the future wish to order a pair of Harley-Davidson® Performance Eyewear by Wiley X® with prescription lenses, you have two options:
OPTION 11. Log on to hdrx.shamir.com with your login provided by Wiley X and follow the H-D Prescription Ordering Guide step by step. In order to do so a few criteria must be in place first: a. Your customer must bring his prescription details/card from his optician b. Your customer must choose a frameYou are responsible for entering the correct data in the ordering process, and if mistakes are made Wiley X will not cover any costs. Only if the mistake is made by the lens manufacturer, will you not be responsible for any extra costs.
OPTION 22. If you have a co-operation with a local optician, they can lend your login to hdrx.shamir.com and make the order for you in return for a fee or some kind of commission. It is important that the customer has chosen a frame in your dealership, before going to the optician. A few advantages from choosing option two: a. The optician is an expert in prescription parameters and eyewear – less chance of errors b. The optician can easily measure the pupil height* on site, if he has the frame
Once the prescription eyewear (job) is ordered, you can follow its progress all the way from the factory floor to your mailbox. The job will be delivered with DHL directly to you from Shamir’s production facility in Portugal, and the estimated delivery time is about 10 working days, no matter where in Europe you are located.
