Continue West along the Ridgeway with beautiful far reaching views over the coast, past Hampton stone circle and down via a small section of holloway, past Ironstone exposure and through the village of Abbotsbury. Note the difference in building stone compared to Portesham. The final stretch back to Portesham follows the route of the old railway line, originally built in anticipation of extracting iron ore from the Abbotsbury Ironstone. Facilities: Pubs, cafes and public toilets in Abbotsbury. Pub and café in Portesham. Public Transport: The X53 between Bridport and Weymouth stops in Abbotsbury and Portesham and runs hourly in summer (less frequently October - April).
