Avionics databuses intgerconnect various electronic equipment (navigation, controls, displays, sensors, etc.) on an aircraft, much like local are networks interconnect computers in an office. Data from one device is passed over the avionics databus to other devices that need the information. there are a number of military and commercial avionics databus standards. the most common are MIL-STD-1553 for the military aircraft and ARINC 429, and ARINC 664 / AFDX, and ARINC 708, and ARINC 717 for commercial aircraft. These and other standards are not limited to use in aircraft. They’ve also been used in many industrial and military applications such as process control, nuclear research, oil exploration, as well as surface, air and space vehicles.
