Happy Christmas 2012

In 2012 the school successfully completed the second cycle of its Bachelor

IBA accreditation in 8 specialisations at the NVAO, and the programme was

also accredited by the German based FIBAA accreditation council. During

the past year, the validation process for the MSc programmes in

International Event Management and International Tourism Management

were completed and the Events MSc started with a small class in September.

2011 has been an exciting year, but also one tinged with sadness. - This year

we celebrated Wittenborg’s 25th Anniversary with a truly fantastic Gala

Evening; we also launched the Debbie (Memorial) Foundation which will

provide scholarships for deserving students.

All in all – a good year has passed, and Wittenborg University looks forward

to the challenges in 2013 with energy and drive!

On behalf of Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, directors Peter

Birdsall and Maggie Feng of the Executive Board would like to wish you a

very Merry Christmas 2012 and a prosperous, successful and exciting 2013!

An Entrepreneurial Project Week

During the past week, Wittenborg Phase 1 and Phase 2 Bachelor students have been carrying out

the third project week of the year, this time with a clear focus on entrepreneurship and new

business development. One of the primary projects was designed by co-organisers “The Centre

for Young Entrepreneurs”, together with their partners Rabobank, Chamber of Commerce and

Startersplein who want to establish a forum for (starting) entrepreneurs in Apeldoorn. Through

this forum questions and problems of entrepreneurs will be categorized, clustered, and referred

to (preferred) providers, to be answered. The city of Apeldoorn also instigated a project entitled

“Apeldoorn: Students’ City 2015”, as did local consultancy company Cardies.nl, with their project

researching the impact of their so-called ”free marketing consults”.
