The Canadian Association of Critical Care Certification Bursary was established to recognize members of the Association who successfully certify or renew their certification in our specialty ‐ Certified Nurse in Critical Care Canada [CNCC(C)] and Certified Nurse in Critical Care Paediatrics Canada [CNCCP(C)]. Members apply to be considered for the bursary which is drawn through a blinded/random draw from the CNA list of CACCN members who attained/renewed their Critical Care Certification.

Interesting article from Healthy Debate
Mr. Y. is a 56-year-old man living in Wuhan, Hubei, China. A retired chemist, he lives with his wife in a gated community. He agreed to speak with Healthy Debate on the condition that his name was with held and his voice was not recorded.
With the Chinese coronavirus outbreak originating in his home city, he has been living in quarantine since the end of January. This interview was done on February 28, 2020.

were in the planning phases of the Spring Education

postpone until further notice. We may reschedule in

Canadian Nurses Association Updated influenza immunization position statement
The CNA board of directors recently approved an update to the 2012 position statement titled Influenza Immunization of Nurses.
Flu season is still among us, and annual immunization through vaccination is the most effective method for preventing influenza and preventing it complications. CNA strongly recommends all nurses receive the influenza vaccine annually to protect themselves, their families and those in their care. Looking for resources? The purpose of CNA position statements it to support practice and provide relevant and timely information for advocacy efforts. Call for resolutions for Canadian Nurses Association's Meeting of Members is now open
CNA invites you to submit resolutions for their annual meeting of members, which will be held on Monday, June 22, at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa. Resolutions are a great way for you to voice your opinion about issues CNA should focus on. Submit a resolution on any nursing or health-care topic you feel passionate about, provided it fits CNA’s missions and goals. Please read the guidelines before you submit a resolution.

From Critical Connections: January 2020 Canadian Journal of Critical Care Nursing™
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Editorial Management Team and the Editorial Review Board (ERB) of the Canadian Journal of Critical Care Nursing (CJCCN) and the Board of Directors, of the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nursing, have determined we will not be producing the Spring 2020 Canadian Journal of Critical Care Nursing (Volume 31, Issue 1, Spring 2020).
The ERB and the Board of Directors have agreed we will commit to publication of the Summer Abstract edition and one additional journal publication in 2020.
Over the coming months, we will be reviewing the Canadian Journal of Critical Care Nursing and formulating a plan for moving forward to ensure the journal’s quality, sustainability and position within the broader critical care nursing scholarship. We thank you for your support.

Nursing Outlook Survey
What is the Outlook on Nursing Survey? The Outlook on Nursing survey aims to find out more about nurses’ work environments. This research will help us examine the relationships between nurse staffing, nurses’ work environment and how this impacts patient care. The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions has partnered with the University of Toronto’s School of Nursing on the first anonymous nationwide assessment of the realities of nurses’ work environments in every health sector, whether in hospitals, home care, the community or long-term care. Our aim is to present a snapshot of what is happening in hospital wards, in the community, and in long-term care facilities on a daily basis in the wake of hearing from our members about a deepening crisis of care. Take the survey and make your voices heard!
Who should participate? This Canada-wide survey invites responses from all currently practicing nurses (i.e., RNs, NPs, RPNs, LPNs) across all employment sectors (i. e. hospitals, long-term care, community including home care, primary care, public health, etc.).
