Changes in our Worship Services You may notice differences in our liturgy

this summer…

We are using Eucharistic Prayer I from Enriching Our Worship for our Sunday morning services this summer. EOW is an approved supplement to the

Book of Common Prayer.

This liturgy is intended to expand the language, images and metaphors used in worship in a more

contemporary and gender inclusive way.

We hope this prayer will help deepen and strengthen your encounter with Christ through

our Sunday morning services at Grace Church.

Summer Sundays @ 5

Sunday, July 29 & August 26 / 5 p.m.

All ages are invited to engage in a casual worship service with Holy Communion in Grace’s Chapel of the Apostles. After the service, anyone who wishes to attend will travel to a local restaurant to enjoy dinner and fellowship together. (Everyone

pays their own way.)

Community of Hope Training

Chris Kurth and Deborah Caby lead a new Community of Hope training session at Grace Church this fall. COH is a non-denominational ministry designed to provide pastoral care to the elderly, the lonely, the sick, the hungry, the imprisoned and the young. This ministry will enhance and enrich your spiritual formation through teaching, prayers and a network of support

shaped by the theology of St. Benedict.

The next training begins September 8 and continues weekly on Monday evenings through November, with dinner provided. If you would like more information about COH, please contact

Chris Kurth, Deborah Caby or Fr. Todd.

Invite a friend to experience the Grace Church labyrinth with you. This meditative walking device has a single, winding path for your

contemplative journey. Groups should contact the church office for available times. Individuals are welcome any time the parish hall is not in use, along with these open hours this summer:

Tuesdays: 1 - 4 p.m. Fridays: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Women’s Book Group

Tuesdays / 10 a.m. / Kean Library

The Book Group discusses Writer, Sailor, Soldier,

Spy: Earnest Hemingway’s Secret Adventures,

1935-61, by Nicholas Reynolds. All are invited to come for the fellowship — even if you don’t read the book. The group’s next selection is If You Lived Here, I’d Know Your Name: News from

Small-Town Alaska, by Heather Lende. Place your

order ($7) with Michele Nicosia by July 10.

Sunday Afternoon Film Series

Sunday, July 8 / 2-4 p.m. (doors open at 1:30)

Webster Groves Public Library

Get out of the heat and enjoy a movie with the Shepherd’s Center! Twenty Feet From Stardom is the untold true story of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st Century, including Bruce Springsteen, Stevie

Wonder and more!

Give Back Tuesday: Katie’s Pizza & Pasta

Benefitting the Shepherd’s Center

Tuesday, July 24 - all day!

Enjoy a fabulous lunch or dinner and support a great ministry! Katie’s at 9568 Manchester Road in Rock Hill will donate 100% of earned profits on July 24 to the Shepherd’s Center, inspiring older adults through volunteerism, enrichment and

community connection.

Sacraments

Women of Grace Serves SPROG

Now - July 20

Women of Grace has made a commitment to support the SPROG summer camp as a ministry this summer. The group will provide lunches July 16 & 17. Everyone is also encouraged to volunteer at the day camp. If you are interested in helping, please pick up a volunteer form from Debby

Pidgeon or the SPROG office.

Trinity Hot Lunch: Reenvisioned

Once a month, Grace Church provides a hot lunch to the hungry and underfed in the Central West End. We are forming a new Trinity Hot Lunch Ministry Team… and we want YOU to be a part of it! Learn more on our website, our summer newsletter, or talk with Fr. Todd, Chris Kurth, or

Vince & Michele Nicosia.

Travel-Size Toiletry Collection

As you travel this summer, bring home the free toiletry items in your hotel room and help a neighbor in need. We’ll donate the shampoos, conditioners, soaps and similar items to the food pantry at Trinity Episcopal Church. Place your

donations in the box on the desk in Kean Library.

Fill the Hunger Barrel Please remember our neighbors in need. Drop your non-perishable food items in Grace’s red hunger barrel in Albright Parish Hall each Sunday. Your donations will be distributed through food pantries at KirkCare and Trinity Episcopal

Church.

Christian Formation Spirituality and Fellowship Outreach and Social Justice

Offerings to Outreach

As you pass the offering plate down the pews today, please share your blessings with those in need.

All loose plate offerings (those not

designated to our annual fund) will go to Grace’s outreach ministries, helping us to do God’s work in

the world. Thanks for your generosity!

The Sacrament of Holy Baptism is administered

four times each year at Grace Church:

♦ All Saints’ Sunday (Nov. 4, 2018)

♦ The Baptism of our Lord (Jan. 13, 2019)

♦ The Great Vigil of Easter (April 20, 2019)

♦ Pentecost (June 9, 2019)

Please contact the church office to arrange for a baptism or marriage, request the Reconciliation of a Penitent (confession) or Unction (anointing

of the sick).

Grace’s clergy are available by appointment to discuss personal, pastoral or spiritual matters;

please call or email the clergy directly.

In case of a pastoral emergency, please call the parish office at 314-821-1806. For pastoral emergencies after office hours, call the parish office and press “7” to be connected to the

priest-on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In case of severe illness, hospitalization, when a person is near death or at the death of a member of the church, please notify the clergy as soon as possible in order to secure the ministrations of the

church.
