STRIP CLUB

Strip Club deadline is rapidly approaching! July 7! Get a head start on your Christmas gifts with July’s Strip Club quilt. This month’s kit uses 42 2 ½” strips of Moda’s Royal Holiday fabric to makes a large throw (68”x68”). What a great gift! The kit comes with all the 2 ½” strips and pattern to make this quilt. Don’t forget our next meeting will be in the evening! We will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 for “cocktail hour”! You are invited to dress in your after 5 attire. (There was a little discussion regarding which type of after 5 attire, so……) As always boas, tiaras & rhinestones are welcome! Refreshments will be served.

UFO

It was great to have so many people show up for UFO on Tuesday! We had such a good time! UFO is open to anyone who would like to join in on the fun. We meet from 1PM – 4PM on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of every month. Just dust off an old project (or start a new one) and fly on over to the shop for some sewing, fellowship or just for the dessert! It is always more fun to bind a quilt when you have someone to visit with!

TEACHERS CORNER

QE is happy to have Linda Chancellor join our teaching staff. Linda brings with her a love of sewing that started at an FHA summer program over 50 years ago. She majored in home economics in college, where sewing was her favorite part of the class. Linda’s grandmother taught her to hand embroidery when she was 6 years old. With her later love of sewing and the ability to embroider Linda started experimenting with her sewing machine’s free motion foot to add decorative touches to clothing. In 1996 she purchased her first embroidery machine. Along with Linda’s love of embroidery, she is passionate about the art of heirloom sewing. Linda leads our Embroidery Club on the first Saturday of every month and teaches a class once a month on the subject that is discussed in the club meeting. Linda will also be teaching a class in heirloom sewing.
