This residential compound consists of four villas for an extend-ed family – one for the parents and three for the other sons. Each unit is defined within clear boundaries, while allowing connectivity across the houses through landscaping of a cen-tral arrival courtyard with palm trees, lush vegetation and nat-ural stone paving. The compound is characterized by its stepped massing, with courtyards of various forms, proportions and character, including shaded arcades, swimming pools, and unique roof terraces with pools and fountains, and shaded sitting areas providing private spaces for outdoor living. The exterior image is inspired by the architectural heri-tage of the region in general, using references to traditional details with materials such as stone, stucco, zellige patterns, decorative terrazzo flooring, wood and GRC screens, wooden ceilings and pergolas.

AL-SALIM PRIVATE VILLA RIYADAH ,KSA

This palace consists of a family residence and a Majlis for the master of the house and his guests. The project is character-ized by its classical presence with imposing massing and sym-metrical arrangements. Two courtyards are included, one in the form of an entry plaza for the Majlis, and one at the heart of the family residence. A large garden is provided for the family residence with swimming pool, sitting areas and associated services, overlooked by the min functions of the house, while roof tops are utilized as outdoor living and entertain-ment terraces. The Majlis also has its own backyard/garden. The house exterior and interior character is inspired by the rich architectural heritage of the region, using references to tradi-tional details and intricate patterns, with materials such as stone cladding and arches, as well as wood and GRC screens and shade pergolas.

The Court Yard is the heart of the Palace. My task was to design it according to the climatic data, so i studied shade and shadows ac-cording to the climatic data of Riyadh and the local architec-tural language In KSA . A courtyard in a home can pro-vide privacy for a family, a break from the frantic pace of everyday life, and a safe place for children to play.

My Tasks

Interior design : My task in this project was to design the courtyard which is the most impor-tant space in the house .After designing it the chief architect gave me the op-portunity to design spaces surrounding the courtyard .
