Handsome Molly, An Irish Traditional Band
Handsome Molly includes fiddler Andy Cleveland, vocalist and multi-‐instrumentalist Kelly Kennedy, and guitarist Craig DuBose. Playing off and on together for over 25 years these three veteran performers combine the best of traditional Irish, English and Scots dance tunes, airs and songs with musical virtuosity and great humor. They play regularly at the Kimball and Hennage Auditoriums in Colonial Williamsburg, and between them have played Lincoln Center, Arena Stage, Grandfather Mountain Games, the Richmond, Williamsburg and Roanoke Highland Games, and in performing arts centers, coffee houses and bars from New Orleans to Massachusetts.
Handsome Molly Musicians
Kelly Kennedy (vocals, piano, accordion,) was vocalist with Richmond’s Premiere Celtic Ensemble “39 Fingers” for 15 years, is currently an independent musician for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and appears regularly in regional theatre and television productions.
Andy Cleveland (fiddle,) got his musical chops at the hands of English folk luminaries playing at the Scunthorpe Folk Club in his native England. Andy also plays with Virginia’s wildly popular ensemble “The Dram Treeo” and currently makes fine violins in his shop in south Richmond.
Craig DuBose (guitar) is a member of the award-‐winning Laurel Creek String Band from Watauga Co., NC. He has been a staff musician at the John C. Campbell Folk School in NC and the Augusta Heritage Arts Center in West Virginia and for the past 15 years has spent part of each year on the Hebridean Isle of Mull.
Handsome Molly will be playing at 12:15 (immediately after the parade) and 3:15.
