Launching WebClient

1. Launch the URL http://localhost/spectrum/

2. Input username & password : spectrum/spectrum

3. Click on Start Console input username & password

minimize for now (ignore this step if OC Console is

opened)

4. Click on WebClient link

Use Case #1 - Role Based Access All alarms, specific GC alarms & Alarm Filter alarms

Target Users – All CA Spectrum users

All alarms

Shows 10 alarms (which is configurable) per page of all severity for

which the user has access to.

Details of Alarm

Select on any alarm preferable “CHASSIS DOWN” and observe

Alarm Details, Impact & Neighbor Topology views

Searching

Input “device stopped ” in Search field to show Alarms with title

“DEVICE HAS STOPPED RESPONDING TO POLLS”

Remove the text in Search field , all alarms should be shown

Filter

Click on “Severity” combo box & select “Major” , click on “Type” &

select “Rtr_Cisco” . Observe all Major alarms on Rtr_Cisco Model type

are shown.

Click on “Major” , “Rtr_Cisco” to reset the filters

Alarm Updates :new, clear & updated alarms

Open OneClick console , select any alarm & Acknowledge the alarm.

Now navigate back to Webclient & observe the alarm acknowledged in

OneClick console has “Ack” cell updated after few seconds.

Cleared an Alarm in OneClick console & observe alarm is cleared in

Webclient after few seconds

Double-click on “Date/Time” column which gets sorted & shows latest

alarms. Observe new Major Alarms are shown in WebClient ( facilitator

will send few traps to SpectroServer raising critical alarms on devices)

Alarms on Global Collections

Click on “Global Collections” (GCs),list of GCs will be shown for which the

user has access to. [Note: Scroll down to find user1GC & user2GC ]

Click on a GC eg: Cisco7505 to view the alarms of the GC

Alarm Filters

Click on “Alarm Filters” (AFs),list of AFs will be shown available to the

user.

Click on a AF eg: “Ack alarms” to view the alarms matching the defined

filter.

GC Hierarchy created in OneClick console

will be shown

Click on Global Collections Hierarchy

Expand Devices->SwitchesAndRouters

Click on Routers

Click on one of the Severity count (Critical) shown at Top right (make a

note of number of alarms)

Logoff & Login with different user

Click on the Username->Signout , login with user1/spectrum

Observe the alarms count & user2GC not shown for this user

Signout , login back with spectrum/spectrum

Use Case #2 – Diagnostic capabilities -Ping,Poll & Traceroute

Select any one Alarm click on Ping button , Poll button & Traceroute

button (Note: Ping & Poll can be triggered on more than one Alarms)

Use Case #3 – Ack/Unack Alarms, Assign/Unassign Troubleshooter for Alarms & Clear Alarms

Assign/Unassign Troubleshooter to Alarms

Select one or more Alarm(s) & click on Assign Tbst button , observe the

list of troubleshooters shown in new dialog , select one Troubleshooter

& click on OK button. Observe the troubleshooter assigned to selected

Alarms.

Clear Alarms

Select one or more Alarm(s) & click on Clear button , observe the
