2 QUESTIONS

Page 10: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

What constitutes good museum practice?

BEAR THIS ONE IN MIND

Page 11: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

How do we make meaning?

Page 12: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

Through language and symbols (semiotics)

Disembodied, visual and intellectual

Page 13: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

Through action and partcipation (phenomenologically)

Embodied, tactile, kinesthetic, emotional

Page 14: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

- Perception is related to actions

- Room is experienced through movement

- Objects are experienced by touch

Page 15: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

WE LEARN BY USING OUR WHOLE BODY

Jerome Bruner

Page 18: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

Daniel Stern

DANIEL STERN(1985 – The interpersonal world of the infant) • The child constructs its self –

the identity

• This is done by conquering domains

• This is done through social interaction

Page 19: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

The Verbal Self

The Narrative Self

Stern talks about 5 domains

The 2 final being

Page 20: Hands on! International 2011 in Slovenia

A PEDAGOGICAL PERSPECTIVE

Socio-cultural perspective

Every function in the child´s cultural development appears twice:

first on the social level and later on the individual level:

first between people (interpsychological)

then inside the child (intrapsychological).

Vygotskij
