Getting Started with Easyroute

EasyRoute route manager is the program on the DAP hand-held terminal (HHT) used to read meters.

The normal mode of operation is to transfer information about your meters from Temetra, travel the meter route reading meters, and finally transfer the readings and other information back to Temetra.

A route (or tour) is a collection of meters, in a sequence that makes sense when reading all the meters. As you read each meter, you collect the information from the meter using a wireless transponder (MIU) or by manually typing the digits (meter index) from the meter into the hand-held.

In addition, as you read each meter you can add a pre-defined status message about the meter, or type another short message to associate with the meter. The pre-defined message are for common status such as 'flooded chamber', 'damaged meter' etc.

The short message allows you to type in status information not covered by the pre-defined messages.

EasyRoute route manager allows you to read the meters out of sequence and has tools to help you find meters in a large route.

These pages are always available at:http://www.temetra.com/support

Collecting a route from TemetraBefore you being a tour, it is necessary to download the latest information from Temetra into the DAP handheld computer.

Doing this just before you start your tour ensures all the most up to date information regarding previous reads, consumption and collection method are available.

Communications is done using a modem connected to the DAP cradle and can be a GSM or land line modem. Your hand-held is configured with all the required information to communicate your route to Temetra.

Reading a Manual MeterReading a manual meter involves typing the index from the meter into the hand-held and optionally adding status messages about the meter.

Hit the ENTER key to begin, and you are now ready to type in the index from the meter. The INDEX: field should be highlighted and this is where you type in the index from the meter

Also shown is the P. IDX: or Previous Index field showing you the most recent read index for this meter, if available

When typing the index, you should only enter the digits for full cubic metres. So in the case of a meter with 3 places of decimal that reads 2278.182 you would enter 2278

Imperial meters that read in thousands of gallons should be entered without the three zeros at the end. For example, a gallons meter that shows 228,000 should be entered as 228

In either case, there is no need to enter any zeros at the beginning.

When you have typed in the digits, press the ENTER key

Configure MIU (Transponder)When adding or replacing a Cyble transponder (MIU) on a meter, it is necessary to configure it. This is normally necessary just once when you first add the MIU, although it may be necessary in other cases when for example, you wish to adjust the leak threshold on an existing meter.

This aligns the index on the meter with the counters inside the MIU, set the meter serial number, set leak thresholds etc.

Assuming you are in Route Manager, hit the ESC key repeatedly until you are prompted to exit from EasyRoute Route Manager

This number is printed on top of the MIU, directly beneath the bar code.

Configure MIU (Transponder) 23 of 37

This reads the all current information stored in the MIU into the handheld. The screen now shows all the current data from the MIU. Using the up and down arrow keys, you can select each line of data on the screen and edit certain values. As you move up and down, a status message at the bottom of the screen shows whether a field is read-only or can be configured. To edit a value, move the arrow to the line and hit the ENTER key

You will need at to set the following values at least:

Meter SN record the serial number of the meter on which the MIU is mounted M Index Align the reading on the meter with the Status Reset the tamper alarm after installation

When you have entered the values correctly, press the F3 to send these values from the handheld back into the MIU. The Cyble has a clock with date and time, and if the date and time in the handheld are very different from this clock, then you will be asked if you would like to change the date and time of the Cyble to synchronize it with the date and time of the handheld.

If programming is successful, the value are read back from the Cyble and displayed again Press the ESC key to return to the screen that lets you enter another MIU number
