Postgraduate Programmes at UM

Mode of StudyCoursework Candidates are required to acquire a specified number of coursework

credits. Certain coursework programmes may require the submission of a research report.

Clinical Candidates are required to complete coursework credits and be involved in clinical work.

Mixed-mode Candidates are required to complete coursework credits and to submit a dissertation.

Research Research is the principal requirement and candidates will produce a dissertation or thesis. Candidates may be required to attend some pre-requisite courses as prescribed by the University.

(a.) Band of 5.5 and above in IELTS (Academic); or(b.) Score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 80 (IBT) and above in TOEFL; or(c.) How to Write a Research IntentA research intent is required to be uploaded onto the online application system for all Research mode programme

WRITING A RESEARCH INTENT:Applicants for higher degree programmes by research are required to submit a brief statement of the research programme which they propose to carry out.

The proposal should comprise the following elements: -

i.) Field of Research

ii.) Topic of Research

iii.) Statement of Problem (with supportive literature)

iv.) Research Objective

v.) Research Methodology

vi.) Significant of the Research

vii.) References (if applicable)

The research proposal should contain maximum 1,000 words.

me Special Requirements for Master of Architecture

MALAYSIAN STUDENTS

a. A Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Universiti Malaya with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 and having achieved a minimum of Grade B for the final Architectural Design Studio course;

Orb. A Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Universiti Malaya with a CGPA of at least 2.75 with relevant

work experience for a minimum of 6 months after obtaining the degree; And

i) pass the portfolio interview; Or

c. A Bachelor of Science/Arts in Architecture or equivalent from any university approved by the Senate as equivalent to a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Universiti Malaya with Honours with a CGPA of at least 3.00;

And i) fulfill the requirements of the Malaysian (RM) Board of Architects (LAM) Part I;

And ii) have relevant work experience for a minimum of 6 months after obtaining the degree;

And iii) pass the portfolio review.

5. Fulfil the requirement for admission by the relevant department responsible for the programmes of study.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (RESEARCH PROGRAMME - MASTERS):

1. Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent degree in Dentistry, or2. Bachelor’s Degree with honours in any science discipline; and3. Local applicants must possess at least a score of 4 for MUET; whilst International applicants must

possess a score of 550 for paper-based total, a score of 213 for computer-based total for TOEFL; or a band 6 for IELTS (Academic).

RevgoRevgo is a heavy-duty bike that is built with speed of up to 35-40km and will last a maximum distance of 34km. To ride Revgo, just download the app, register and scan the QR code. First time users will have to pay RM15 registration (RM10 e-wallet and RM5 charging fee). Revgo operates at a base rate of RM1.10 and an add on of RM0.05/minute and subsequently RM0.20/km.
